Saw someone with the tag attached to a backpack which was definitely not suitable to check in...
Eww. Yeah, I see your point.
I did say "sometimes". :-|

I'm really sorry to think this, but whenever I see them on hand luggage/carry-on I roll my eyes and think derogatory things.
How long have your been SG? If over 6 months then you should have a "Golden Set" ...
I was referring to the rectangular SG luggage tags.Serfty, I've been either WP or SG for more than 10 years, and I'm still waiting to receive any NGCI card and tags ......

It's probably too late to request any as well ...I have been gold for a lot longer than 6 months and I have not yet received my "Golden Set"

Just to clarify, if the underlying concern is that a Silver Q Bag Tag could be confused with a Platinum one in terms of baggage priority, it's worth noting that the colour of the Q Bag Tag does not determine baggage priority. Having said that, I have passed your feedback on to the design team.
At bag drop, the baggage priority associated with the passenger's booking is associated with the Q Bag Tag.
Yeah the concern was that the bags were prioritised visually...
So are you saying that if I used a Silver tag as a WP it should be prioritised that way?
We are continuing to send out NGCI kits, with the majority of Gold kits having been issued. Depending on where your kit is in the delivery process relative to your booked flight dates, you may receive them in time for your flights.
Thanks for your patience, appreciate your interest in our new system.

Qantas do have a priority baggage system in place and it works very well :!:Priority Luggage? Are you kidding me? Qantas have NO priority luggage system in place. Bags are loaded on to the belt as they come off the aircraft. I understand it makes no sense to withhold non priority luggage, but please dont claim to offer a priority service when you never provide one!
What utter rubbish! I have been a Gold member for 8 consecutive years, always overshooting the gold requirements but not quite stretching far enough for Platinum.
I am STILL waiting for my tags, several weeks after i was emailed to confirm my mailing details, and after I contacted QFF to ask where the tags were. Was told, the consultant would arrange for them to be sent immediately and im still waiting!!
All the while, 2 colleagues who have just qualified for Silver status, for the first time I might add, got their new kits (card and tags) immediately!
Tell me again why an 8 year Gold member shouldn't enjoy the benefits of this new technology before Mr newbie Silver??
Not happy at ALL, to the point where I have emailed QF advising them to shove their loyalty up their backside and I will now fly best fare of the day! Just waiting to hear back regarding my half a million points before I am able to say good riddance to a horrible airline that treats its customers with such contempt.

SOMETIMES.
I do hope this continues, not having to wait 20-40mins (Mostly in MEL) is a great benefit for me, and many otheres.
And here I was thinking it was just my bags that are especially delayed into MEL!!
Every time I arrive, we wait...... and wait... and wait..... until after 30 or so minutes, when I crack the ****s, walk over to baggage services and have some "words" with them. They then proceed to tell me they are short staffed and blah blah blah, I tell them, I don't care and to get more staff and that 30 minutes is in no way "Priority" luggage and miraculously the bags start arriving on the carousel.
If I was a litigious so and so, I would sue them for breach of contract and claim back my lost time at my full hourly rate. Lets just say, my flights would be more more than free! Now there's an idea!!
