Boarding Passes?

Personally I'd have thought you'd have already gotten your boarding pass on checkin well before getting to the lounge, but in the rare case that your airside without one I'm sure one of the lovely people at the desk could help you :)

Could certainly happen in SIN if you are in transit - saves trying to battle the crowds at the transfer desks.

I normally just walk to the service desk located near the lounge entrance and ask the staff there if they can print out my boarding pass for me. Works in most cases.
BP for other carriers? (I do have some "interesting" itineraries at times).

I generally try to OCLI and print before departure. But sometimes I can't.

Anyhoo, there's generally a way. It's just nice to have the option. I am there in about 10 days - shame I may have to load iTubes but if I have the time I'll investigate the bare extraction indicated by anat0l. [EDIT]seems easy enough: ProTip: Install [-]Enable AirPlay in XBMC[/-]Bonjour Without Installing iTunes! [/EDIT]

I can't speak for the QF lounge specifically, but as a general rule SIN is very good for transiting airside. Many carriers will print a BP well before your flight's "normal" check-in time when you are airside (provided the desk is staffed and OLCI has opened). I have had success with connections going onto SQ and CX in the recent past.

For those playing at home, this is one way to get multiple TPR visits on one ticket ;)

What sorts of things are people so desperate to print out at the lounge that it can't wait until you arrive at your destination?

Itineraries, hotel bookings/confirmations, boarding passes, confirmation of banking/credit card transactions etc.

They don't check you're on that flight? Nuts! :o

No, no... They make sure you get on the flight. What kind of service provided by an airline for First Class passengers would make it easy to miss a flight?

The trick is you that can get an OLCI boarding pass reprint up to 48hrs prior...

Anyhow, getting OT

On the printer issue, and hope Red Roo, is reading.

It would be much much easier for PC and Android users if the printer also supported the Google Cloud Print service. I note that many printers (eg all the current Epson ones with cloud support do support both)

Or used some for of mail to address like what AA uses.

Itineraries, hotel bookings/confirmations, boarding passes, confirmation of banking/credit card transactions etc.

But isn't that the sort of thing that you should have pre-organised before leaving home, since these are pretty important things and there is no guarentee that the printer isn't out of order.

Some bookings are made at the very late stage. In fact some are made on the run

- Bangkok Airways boarding pass using OLCI and travelling BKK-CNX the next day cannot be sourced in SIN or before I left for SIN
- Some hotel bookings are made at late stage
- New flights booked
- Bell Travel coach bookings
- Some banking/credit card transactions are done overseas and I would like a printout especially if I am doing a balance transfer

Now of course there is no guarantee the printer is out of order and if that is indeed the case then I can organise to visit another lounge to do the printing.

But you may have just made a new booking on the very same computer and want to print out the confirmation. Some of us do make/change bookings whilst travelling.

Simple Lounge Expectations

1) Peace and Quiet
2) Business Centre
3) Good food and drinks with good variety to suit multiple cultures
4) Shower facilities
5) Comfortable seating
6) Exclusive
7) Helpful friendly staff
8) Away from Crowds
9) A sanctuary from the normal airport hussle and bussle

Now how many of these does the Singapore lounge meet?

I may be negative but the Singapore lounge fails on many of the important requirements.

I once needed one to print out lounge access rules. But I was in a bit of a Catch-22 situation!

I don't know about you guys; but I found the QF lounge in SIN perfectly fine; the staff there were superb, and the food not too bad at all (even my vego friend found it good). There was adequate seating (albeit at 8.00pm on a Friday when we got there); and I found the lounge to be quite well designed (really liked the seats with the USB charging port and international socket).

Maybe as a SG travelling on JQ64; and not having been to nicer lounges such as QF F in SYD/MEL - meant that my expectations may have been lower compared to some high flyers on this board; but I'd happily return to this lounge.

ps. Had troubles with the printer there as well (not having a mac and all); but hopefully that should be rectified soon (fingers crossed). But the lounge staff were more than happy to take my USB and print off the documents ...

Apart from 2 - what else does SIN fail on

When I was there, 8 and 9. And difficult to find a couple of seats.
