The Qantas Singapore Lounge

Are the shower facilities in the QF lounge much better than the ones in the EK lounge?

I prefer the showers in the QF lounge. You get a self-contained room with a toilet and large mirror etc, whereas the showers in the EK lounge are just a shower room attached to the public bathroom.

There are more showers in the QF lounge than the EK lounge. In QF, everything is self-contained, and they are located away from the washrooms with their own attendants. The shower itself doesn't have that much pressure, and the shower head is quite basic. The EK shower is a bit more advanced, with some extra spray and that. However, it's basically just a room located within the washrooms. In that sense, the QF ones are definitely a better experience.

And I suppose this is the only place in the world where a guy is allowed to discuss the differences between two showers.

Call it for what it is:confused:: It's located in the toilets!

The EK lounge might be fine and better than QF in some ways, but the QF lounge showers are 100 times better.

(IMO :) )

(I walked out of the EK lounge, back to QF when I saw the shower!)

Yeah, the shower is a real turn off....along with the overwhelming caramel theme.

I had to read that twice in case you had said "camel theme"!

The SQ lounge showers (at T3, including TPR) are like EK in that you access them via the toilets, and don't contain a toilet inside them (so they are not "self-contained", as it were).

Given that QF also uses good brand shampoo and body soap in their showers and overall looks brighter inside the bathroom (compared to SQ), can definitely agree that the QF shower experience is superior.

If the QF ones had just a little bit more pressure they'd be perfect.

Thanks for all the replies, guys. Looks like it'll be the QF showers for me! I love the self-contained ones. I think I'll head to the QF lounge first on my way back to SYD, have a shower and check out the food options and, when it gets too busy, I'll make my way over to the EK lounge and fill up on champagne before my flight (QF6).

I will be doing similar later this week on QF6 also, although if I get to the airport late will head to EK if QP gets too busy re the showers.

They have 20 showers there (correct me if I'm wrong with the exact number), so they won't run out in a hurry. Quite a few less in the EK lounge, however.

Three are reserved for CL, leaving a pool of around 10 on any given day after you take the P1 priorities out, and every visit around 8Pm I have seen buzzers in use for those waiting.

Good to know as I should be there by or around 7pm.

There are always some free ones at 7-ish, which is usually the time I visit. Might be just a timing thing then.

I have yet to hit the SIN Lounge, but how would you rate the Showers at the QF Lounge in SIN?

In SYD they are pretty swanky in the International J Lounge with the Rain-drop shower head & the lush Molton Brown shower gel's.

The First lounge , they must be the same or better still, will have to visit very soon.

When I had a transit with BA , LHR terminal 5, the shower's there were somewhat disappointing in terms of size of the shower cubical, but the inbuilt radio tuner was something clever, so they get marks for that.

You could certain sing in the shower if you wanted to.

But Just curious to hear what people have to say about the Showers in SIN.

Hope you don't think i'm too much a airport lounge Shower Connoisseur! lol

It's probably about the similar size to SYD T1 J Lounge. Feels a bit brighter. Products are Aurora, which aren't that bad (better than Kimberley Clark). The shower head is not a rain type, but a mounted, loose shower head type. Water pressure could do with a bit more for Western standards.

I can't quite remember the hot-cold water dynamics, but I think (not sure) the hot water may need to be turned to full blast to be suitable for those that like a hot shower. (Hey, this is Singapore; it's sticky like a bain marie out there, cold water showers are ideal!) That said, I think if you steam up the entire room, it might take a while to clear, but unlike some other lounge bathrooms (or hotel bathrooms) I've been in, you won't suffocate to death.

I wouldn't sing in the shower. Not that you may not be heard, but it's just odd as in public facilities!

Well Thank You for the time putting the pictures up & your comments .

I will take your advice & will endeavour not to sing whilst in the QF SIN showers.:)
