The Qantas Singapore Lounge

I'm currently in the SIN lounge. Just visited the gents and the female cleaner walked in unannounced. I was washing my hands at the time and she said hello to me. The look on the face of one "surprised" gentleman was priceless! This is actually one of the many things I like about Asia as they don't close toilets while they clean them.

I think it was the Veuve a couple of days ago, but Moet the other month I was there. For some reason, I didn't actually think too much of it, and just kept on drinking anyway.

I was in the EK SIN Lounge on 6/11/13 - most definitely Veuve  - the sparkling Sallinger at the QP in SIN on the same day was about as appealing as the hard floor and non existent ceiling in the dining area!

Rumours of my demise were greatly exaggerated

I prefer the showers in the QF lounge. You get a self-contained room with a toilet and large mirror etc, whereas the showers in the EK lounge are just a shower room attached to the public bathroom.

EK does have both integrated and self contained shower rooms.

Was in the Singapore Lounge Monday night and enjoyed the brulee however as usual not much of a western choice other than some rather ordinary looking pasta thingy. Michelle was good and offered me a beefburger.

I awaited with much anticipation looking forward to a nice burger having just escaped Boracay and the Super Typhoon. Have to say sadly was slightly disapointed when I received a bacon and egg roll accompanied by a ham and cheese roll. Now whilst I appreciates the effort and gesture made by Michelle and the team, it was not a beefburger.

Please qantas give us more options !!!!!!!

By the way went across to the EK Lounge as soon as it opened and loved the Lamb cutlets and many other dishes, and the view and real champagne.

Not a fan of the QF Sin Lounge

It's interesting that that there seems to be more than a handful of people who prefer the EK lounge over the QF lounge. When the alliance was announced 14 months ago one of the comments thrown around was something like 'How do you keep people on the farm (QF) when you've shown them the city (EK)?' It seems that's true not just of the on-board product.

Surely you're not suggesting that a Y meal onboard would be better than the food in the SIN Lounge ??!! That's just silly......

Unfortunately not!

Yes the salads and desserts and fruit are great in the SIN lounge
Yes the sit down meals are pretty good in the lounge but I can't be bothered having table service I just want to sit, relax and have a decent bite to eat with a few drinks

Recently (twice) the main dinner dish was some dark pork belly type meat, in a heavy sauce! Was not to my liking at all, and neither of a few other people around me

I did have some plain rice with salad and some fruit and lamingtons and other bits and pieces but I needed a proper "main" meal

I found the pork quite nice - only had a little as I had ordered some food (as per above).

My first visit to the new QF Singapore Lounge this evening.

Don't mind the design and some of the amenities, but no champagne, are they serious?  :(

food has certainly gone done hill over the last few months - the hot options in the bain marie were laughable this week: limp beef and veg, soup and pasta options that looked awful

the cooked options were less enticing also - some old singapore favourites that would be way to spicey for most I think (ok for me but slightly overcooked)

salads were good in appearance but not particularly satiating

looks like its back to skyview for now - usually enjoy their curries and they seem to go through quite a bit as people tuck in

The EK lounge can be worth a visit (see upthread), although in the opposite direction.
