The Qantas Singapore Lounge

Thanks. Will be doing my first SYD-SIN run in a few weeks (thanks to .br). Looking forward to seeing the QF Singapore lounge for the first time at the end of this month when I connect from QF81 to my 3K flight and then checking out the EK lounge on my way back on QF6. What time does the EK lounge in SIngapore open? I read somewhere that it's 6pm?

Around 3 hours before an EK flight, these were the timings when the BNE flight was retimed to 1230 ex SIN.

Thanks, markis10! I can head straight to the EK lounge on my way back as I'll be arriving into SIN just before 7pm then.

I'm at the BA lounge now and the printer does not seem to be working.
Where's the nearest lounge that I'd (QF SG flying QF Y) have access to that would have a printer ?
EK or MH ?

QF?

Not MH.

Emirates lounge is close by otherwise the Skyview lounge is a short(ish) walk back to down towards the D gates.

The QF lounge has a printer, but no desktops to access it. The EK lounge is not too far away, and most likely be on the way to your flight in the C wing of T1. MH is in T2, so have fun getting there.

The BA lounge is closer still, you could just ask them to fix it

I did try that but after 15mins with two of the staff and no progress and with departure time an hour way I sped off to the EK lounge as still wanted to have a shower and a feed before the flight.

Went straight to the EK lounge this time, just before sunset. The twilight is very nice, looking out to the runway, while enjoying peace and quiet, proper champagne. I think I've really found my new home in SIN.

Last weekend I did my first visit to the Singapore QF lounge on my way back to Melbourne on a QF flight and had a great experience.

A very hot and humid afternoon of walking around had me in dire need of a shower and the service and amenities were fantastic. Picked up the pre-packed towel bundle and went off for a very refreshing shower before coming out for a quick meal of slow-roasted pork belly, asian greens and steamed rice from the hot bain-marie self service and a glass of sparkling. My partner had the gong bao chicken and said it was very nice. Then adjourned to the lounge part for a nicely made mojito from the bar and generally just chilling out for a bit. It got quite busy as the flight departure got closer to the point there were people doing a couple of laps before finding a seat.

About 40mins before the flight my partner and I wandered over to the EK for a glass of Veuve on the way to our gate (C25 - what a trek!). Very dated compared to the Qantas lounge but quite empty compared to the QF lounge although the French bubbles make the dated decor a non-issue.

Quite chuffed we had the time to do both lounges and given the time again would definitely do both again in the same way. The Qantas amenities and facilities were great, as was the food.

Have they switched from Moet to Veuve?

No Moet in sight when we were there - only Veuve. My first and only visit so I can't testify beyond what was there last Saturday :)

Will check it out next week, but it has been Moët in the past:

I think it was the Veuve a couple of days ago, but Moet the other month I was there. For some reason, I didn't actually think too much of it, and just kept on drinking anyway.

Are the shower facilities in the QF lounge much better than the ones in the EK lounge?

I'd be happy with either. Both beats any sparkling that would be on offer in the QF lounge...

Apart from being bigger and busier in the QF lounge, I don't think there is much difference.
