astrokid,
As LW suggests it would be a good idea to delete your personal details.
Until you have 15 posts you can send PMs via one of the mods.

Thank you for the tip :)
I did have more than 15 posts but my profile was deleted. Had to start this new one.

I wouldn't even have any idea where the CL is anyway!

It's on the upper walkway (up the escalators from the departure level - same level as the QP and the DOM J Lounge). It's between the QP and the Business Lounge - it's marked "Private Lounge". Is that right?

I will neither confirm, nor deny this fact. ;)

Just finished reading over 540 posts and it would appear this thread was a fun social activity for 16 lucky AFFers. Have I missed anything important?

Yes.
They (the lucky dogs) will forever be able to hint at things that may / may not have been said / taken place, or offered to them, and we'll be none the wiser.

Do you guys think this was a valuable exercise from QFs point of view?

Now that it's all done & dusted I wonder if they feel that it was worthwhile and are hoping to do it again for future announcements.

The sceptic in me says a yes. To enter the lunch competition one needed to provide your QFF number, so now they have a list of AFF members, their respective QFF number and they can now spend some quality time discreetly analysing their travel patterns. Simple market research.

Also the bigger sceptic in me says, the reason for QFF numbers is because they had to select potential WP1, and more importantly regular status flyers to attend. Imagine, now imagine, and I'm being highly suspicious here, if the competition did not require a person's QFF number and 16 Nuthin' Bronze flyers were selected. That would have made the lunch very interesting with the CEO talking to their most infrequent flyers.

I do genuinely feel that it was worthwhile.

It wasn't a cheap exercise for QF, and I took it as a genuine effort by them to engage with AFF.

Whilst in part it may have been a PR exercise for them, in part to placate AFF (given the complaints on this forum regarding QF's lack of engagement relative to VA), I do feel in the end QF took away valuable feedback that may be more broad than their "scientific surveys", and perhaps narrow feedback panels (my wording).

So in short - yes, I think QF learned new things, and it seemed that they did indeed find it valuable.

Hopefully they do make it a habit ;)

The complimentary epiQure membership has been activated. I was able to log in using my FF number :)

I was just looking at the epiQure page to see what benefits it gave, was a little sad to read this:

# The latest join offer for new paid epiQure by Qantas Frequent Flyer members will receive is 2 complimentary bottles of 1999 Petaluma Coonawarra Cabernet Merlot, valued at $130. Limit of one gift per new member. Gift is not available for complimentary joins.

Now to politely ask Trevor what I get as I was already an epiQure member (and indeed have been buying some of their quite-reasonably priced bubbles whilst delivery is still free; and taking advantage of the bonus point-per-dollar at QFF earning restaurants ;))

Could you also ask about my visit to the CL? ;)

I tried logging in with my QFF# and PIN and it appeared that it wanted me to sign up ... so looks like mine hasn't come through yet.
