He said it was 'Astro Kid' (I tried profiles for both with and without the space and I couldn't see it either).

Said the same to me also, I can't find him. I originally posted Astro Boy as number 16 on the day but then edited it as he definitely said Astro Kid.
The mystery deepens

The ironic part is I actually know him, from a former life living in PER. I hadn't seen him in almost 15 years though, and only had confirmation it was him off a friend in PER who commented we had both checked in to the same place on Facebook.

As an owner, can anyone expand on "Ideas: looking at at SME markets, rewarding owners when staff fly"?

I'm not putting a million through QF so won't get CL, was the above suggested by the group or by QF? Does it exist? If so how does it work and where do I turn it on?

The short answer is this is all around business in this segment getting access to a better deal with Qantas, such as a kind of deal on their spend and opportunities for points sharing, or earning for employee travel spend in addition to what employees earn.

There were no confirmed specifics around this, just stating this is an area they are actively looking at.

  • ...ISTR that ATA was not available for international flights before it was removed. Hence that reason seems to fail a basic test

Well your recollection was wrong. ATA was applicable for any Qantas operated lounge, including international ones. (International ones, necessarily, required one to be flying that day because that is what one needed to pass through passport control and hence access a lounge).

At least if you are going to be strongly accusative of someone bearing lies then you should be ready to admit the faults and errors of your own willingly, unreservedly and without prejudice against anyone else.

<Mods: to be moved to the ATA thread if necessary>

Thanks to Qantas and all who attended the function and for sharing your insights. There's quite a bit of ground to cover in the resulting postings and realise that there's a dimension to the discussion that can never be accurately shared through this written forum (and difficult enough to try and convey all of them at once in the conversation).

Here's hoping for more fruitful things to come between Qantas and AFF....

First time that's ever happened

since you are the first and only to correct my recollection, and 3 days later, I'll refer you to the above sarcastic comment in which I acknowledge my human failings. I did thy willingly without caveat at the first point that some corrected me. Is that good enough for you?

I would object to the use of strongly accusative. It wasn't a strong accusation at all. The use of words like "seems" actually makes it barely an accusation

I think I imagined correcting you in my head but didn't get around to typing out the response.

There I go then

Think I imagined in my head being truly and sincerely sorry if anyone was mislead by my recollection when Serfty said that a certain benefit that we must not name was available in the F lounge before 2007 (or whatever the real date was).

I think it was April 2008 when ATA to the F lounge went - just around the time that the new lounges opened I think. After then ATA related to J lounge only before being torched.

In relation to the lunchtime discussions it appears lounge access without flying oneworld/JQ is not on the agenda.

In relation to Simon's post, access to Qantas international first class lounges was no longer available to WPs as of April 1[SUP]st[/SUP], 2008 unless flying oneworld/JQ.

That was very clear!

IF there are future concessions re: parents/family etc, it will still be on the proviso that they are flying QF/JQ/possibly OW.

I am surprised by my enormous ability to retain FF related trivia ;)

I sat next to him on the other side Princess and he said to me he was Astroboy, didn't post much and lived in Northbridge in Perth. Mind you I am a lady and have such a fluffy memory these days!

There was a user called Astrokid. But seems no more.

Interesting.

He mentioned he tried to login and it wouldn't let him login. He thought he may have been suspended or something but he had no idea why.

I have just looked up the data base and tried the following every combination of the names Astroboy and Astrokid that I could think of and the only one that showed as current is Astroboy.

How did he enter the competition if he could not login?

His details do not show him as being from Perth.
