He must have been invited as he was at the hotel with us and was expected by Red Roo, so the mystery deepens! He definitely said astrokid in the CL though, not astroboy.

The short answer is this is all around business in this segment getting access to a better deal with Qantas, such as a kind of deal on their spend and opportunities for points sharing, or earning for employee travel spend in addition to what employees earn.

There were no confirmed specifics around this, just stating this is an area they are actively looking at.

I certainly like this idea. I'm a SME owner and almost all of my travel is for business. I spend enough with QF to maintain not only myself at WP but also the other company director, and several employees at about silver. If there was someway I could get some benefit from choosing QF flights for our staff without taking away their right to earn their own points (there would be a mutiny!) then I would definitely be thinking twice before booking them on some cheapie Air Asia X flight or whatever airline had BFOD. I know my staff would prefer to always fly QF (where available and practical) but there has never been any reason for me not to put them on the cheapest flight. If I could get something by choosing QF I might be prepared to spend a little more and make them think I'm a good boss in the process!

I flew out of Sydney the next day and I didn't even ask when I got to the airport if there was a CL pass for me that day. It would have been sooooo embarrassing had there not been one and, ... being a lady!!!. I had some lovely mushroom soup in the Business Lounge!

I wouldn't even have any idea where the CL is anyway!

No - advice about the new First Class lounge restrictions went out tp WP's in October 2007.

AJ became CEO of Qantas 14 months later in November 2008 (he had been CEO of JQ for 5 years before that).

It was an honest question. Seems I should have Googled more accurate dates. I do apologize if you think I was spin doctoring, which I was not.

Maybe you can explain the continual process of "Enhancements" to our WP benefits or will you accuse me of making that up as well? It obliviously has to originate somewhere inside QF. It did not just happen / start by chance. Likewise it has not been a continual process by chance.

Hi all - Having seen that Lindsay Wilson has almost worked out who is going I thought we might set up a breakaway thread to work what/if we do anything around the event including organising any live blogging from the event itself (given I assume it isnt all just the lunch discussion with the QFF CEO given the WP1 announcements).

We also might like to finish off the afternoon with a HP* :shock: in a local hostelry in honour of the HPs drunk occasionally in the QPs

Sorry it took so long to come back on here. I have had login issues My password kept resetting itself and i was constantly locked out. So I started a new profile. I am/was No.16 and it is astrokid and not astroboy

was great meeting you all, had a lovely afternoon even If I did get the red eye from Perth!
And to those of you who I embarrassed by being in my Adidas tracksuit shorts in the CL I am sorry! I had no idea that we were going in there and I just wanted to be comfortable for my long flight home after being in dress clothes all day! Was fun though!
