Having met you at the last Christmas Do, I wouldn't have suspected you to be around my age; indeed, I had thought you much younger!

Of course, it doesn't help that most people overestimate my age. Don't know what is with that (although some people say it's my behaviour).

Good genes I think! My mum looks nothing like her age, so hopefully I go the same way :D I was told only two years ago that I looked 22-ish, I'm happy with that.

After 11ish years in a house together with electric hotplates, a gas stove was an essential for me with this place (well, apart from not on a flood plain!). Mr Katie has only accidentally left a hot plate on once or twice with gas. With electric he left them on far more frequently ...

Back when we had electric hotplates, the toaster may have accidently been put on a plate that was left on...was quite a sight to see it gradually "sinking" as it melted...

Looks like the clock radio I got for my 18th birthday from an aunt is finally had it. Currently gaining about 3 minutes a week.

You will have an extra 156 minutes if you use the clock for a year. You will be able to give something special attention at the end of each year.

Wow - yes, they are very efficient - grabbing every little bit of UV out of the sky! We've had plenty of cloudy days and rain, but not as much as the S-E corner.
We were a little higher for the yearly average (1x teen; 1x pre-teen, both of whom can turn something [anything…everything!!!] on but haven't quite mastered the art of turning OFF!) so I'm ecstatic with the last 2 bills having a decent credit balance…woohoo! :D
I'd never heard of PVOutput! Thanks for that - I'm looking into it now.

It's a great tool to compare your system performance against others in your suburb or local area........efficiency is everything i.e kWh/kW

Some installers aren't that keen on promoting it as it's a very accurate method to monitor that their product (your system) is installed correctly & making you money.

This is one of the biggest system in OZ (on Pvoutput) & it's generating mega bucks Jaques Coffee Plantation 80.500kW

If your status assessment date said 2014 I would say you were home, otherwise a few days to go.

markis10, you were spot on:

:( Ah well, c'est la vie, and deserved. Just have to work my way back up another time.

Gobsmacked today when I read online that James Strong had died yesterday aged 68.

Peter Harvey and James Strong on the same weekend. Oh the times are a'changing...

Pancreatic cancer is wicked. In the last seven years I have lost three people to it, my father, a good friend who was 52 and my sons friend who was just 27. All died within 18 months of diagnosis with my Dad surviving the longest. We need fundraising for this particular cancer like we do with prostate/breast cancer as its fatality rate I believe is close to 100% (or seems that way) and it kills fast. :(

A friend of mine was lucky to detect it just in time, had a (fairly) new procedure, that looks like a year down the track it has worked. Sounds like he was very lucky!

Yes. Incredibly lucky. Maybe don't google pancreatic cancer then.

Maybe a Nobel Prize for medicine would be more appropriate?

Yes. Thought they were all Peace but in the various doctrines. I reckon you know what I meant.

Very nasty cancer with a poor prognosis - the one-year survival rate is 20%, and the five-year rate is 4%. Unfortunately pancreatic cancer has a low survival rate as it is most often diagnosed at an advanced stage. Pancreatic cancer is the fifth most common cause of cancer death over all.
