Any excuse (notice how quickly) to raise. Why aren't they ever so quick to lower

In the link, they say the price takes 10 days to filter down. Jet fuel has gone down recently, but QF still hasn't lowered their "fuel surcharge".

I hardly ever sign in to LinkedIn. I have not received a LinkedIn invitation from the owner of the golf society. I have sent and received emails from the owner of the golf society.

Is LinkedIn peeking at my Hotmail account contacts and emails? Gross invasion of privacy and not very professional....

Do you run it on your smartphone? It has a tendency to help itself to your email and contacts I have found...

There are very clever data mining methods available. Predictive analytics. If they know where you have been (your log-in IP-address will tell them) and what you do or like, they can "guess" you might like something, need something or know a person.

I don't have anything to hide but it cannot get much lower than using my browsing history to show me the same boring ads over and over or asking me if I know someone or not.

LinkedIn is pretty damn clever at this stuff. But it may be that the owner of the golf society looked for you.....

I thought about that one but I do not remember ever seeing an invitation from him.

I do remember seeing an invitation from the Manager at Flipper Lodge as I sent her an email once but I did not accept that LinkedIn invitation and I still keep seeing here popping up in my LinkedIn updates.

You call it clever and I know a lot of people love this social networking stuff but for me I find it extremely boring. I don't even remember why I bothered signing up to LinkedIn ~5 years ago. It does nothing for me.

most likely reason IMHO is that the other party has uploaded their contacts to linkedin. it has now seen the link and suggesting that you might want to connect.
