It does exist & it is worth to integrate,
I used to think BKK was a frontier city filled with prostitutes & swindlers for some time as well..
It isn't? Have I been missing out?

Seriously each one of these places mentioned is a city not a collection of villages that want to remain that way.

Oh no, not this BS again...

Someone has it in for your business....

Oops. I have vented twice about the same problem. We are all good now, it was "miraculously restored". And you have a great memory! :)

Does "5 star hotel experience" include the many experiences of having to stay in them? :D

How does a salary of GBP 25000 per year stack up in Old Blighty?

As Flashware said ... Yes it can be a decent salary - but it isn't great. Many people would live on it ok though. (and yes, I think the national average is roughly around there)

And I do suspect that being a DYKWIA doesn't help with obtaining the job :D

You don't need to look for it in Sydney and I am assuming Melbourne is the same.

Supermarkets, RSLs, pubs, Leagues Clubs, bowling clubs, coffee shops, restaurants, service stations all have extended trading in Sydney.

I went to Darling Harbour on Saturday for first time in months. I was surprised by the number of people around. Familes, grand parents, parents, children, couples, friends. People everywhere.

Wonderful sight and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Oh I see the problem. You think having a supermarket open is a lifestyle? Personally my lifestyle is improved by not having to go to a supermarket.

As for doing things have you ever been to southbank in Brisbane, even once? That the same type of place as darling harbour. Have you even been to the Greek club, once? That's open late. The Irish club? They have rsls in Brisbane and pubs and all of those things and they open late. Even the service stations. You just need to look and you can find them.

Oh and your comment about being a collect of villages is laughable when you compare one council for Brisbane versus multiple councils for all the other so called cities. Every word you utter proves you do not have the first clue about Brisbane. Your mind is stuck in Sydney while you body is at work during the week. As such your comments need to be dismissed, as they border on the ludicrous.

Can I have a bit of a moan about Telstra?

I organised a data bundle for my recent trip to NZ so I could use my everyday mobile. I was assured the service was in place - they even made me hold on the line for about 10 mins while they finished it. I called today to cancel it. I guess this is moan 1 - you need to call them to stop the service or they will continue to charge you on a monthly basis. Moan 2 - apparently there is no record of the service being turned on. I need to wait until my next billing period and then *I* have to call up to have the charges refunded for any overseas usage.

And just for Telstra to have a final laugh, I went to collect my mail from my PO Box today. Inside was a letter from Telstra thanking me for buying a data pack and giving me further info about the service.

They. Drive. Me. Crazy.

Telstra are a bunch of cough.

I am moving to WA so I have put my account on hold, as I still want to reconnect using the same email address and hardware that I have with me. So I received an email confirming it was done but I then received an email from the real estate agent 2 weeks after I had disconnected the service, saying I hadn't disconnected the phone line. Back on the phone to Telstra and they said; we have disconnected the billing part, but oh sorry we forgot to discount your phone line from the exchange.

Idiots, that is 10 minutes I won't be getting back from my life.

Question for Bundy Bear...Which team are you going to support, The Eagles or The Dockers ?

Telstra are a bunch of cough.

I'm not sure it was deliberate, more incompetence. As such I'd suggest useless cough is more appropriate.

My story involves blowing our download allowance. (Aside= This was because one child was watching YouTube videos about minecraft and wouldn't let the other one watch. Naturally the other one asked dad to use his MacBook Air and proceed to watch the exact same YouTube videos.) Anyway, I called Telstra about the issue because I couldn't see how we used that much data based on bit rates for the video watched and such. They just offered to remove the speed shaping as a one of goodwill gesture. Ok sounds good. Turns out the useless prick actually added an order for adsl to our account somehow. So next bill comes and there is an additional charge for adsl. Ring up, get a credit and tell them to remove the second adsl service. Yes all fixed. Next month - you guessed it. Another call more credits and told it was all fixed. Then I bite the bullet and updated to a new bundle, with 8 times the data allowance. You know how they put in a whole heap of adjustments when you charge plans to finish the previous plan and bill for the new plan? Yep they adjusted the credit for the incorrectly charged second adsl service, but didn't adjust the incorrect charge as it had been removed. Another call to make them give me back the credit.

Anyway, their incompetence is now working in my favour, following the bundle update. I'll wait for them to call me about it. :D

And the lifestyle of those who work at supermarkets (and other places noted previously) is improved by not having to work at such odd hours so they can enhance their social life by being social

Just did a e-rewards survey about travel. Came to a question that would spark much debate on AFF.

My favourite piece of metal is a GLEX, or Bombardier Global express which I have had the pleasure to fly, unfortunately my local airport is home to what I consider to be the worst paint job on any aeroplane I have seen - Yuk

Well Telstra cancelled our business land line number, just because they could. When I rang (on one of multitudes of times) they told me the number hadn't been operational for 12 months and had been sold to a wholesaler.

Ouch. OK, you win. :D
