And your experience doesn't match other experiences. Opinion is one thing. Claiming the opposite of observable facts is another thing entirely.
And you are the expert on everything Brisbane. Apologies for trying to con the great all knowing medhead with my false accusations of a sleepy town.

I am not a very sociable person. I am actually quite shy. For a long time I was looking for something for a conservative person and clearly it is not there or if it is then it is very difficult to find in these pockets hidden away from the main areas.

It is a shame I wasted 5 years in Brisbane. But in a way I have been better off sitting in my lonely room every night saving money so I can spend more time doing the things I love doing the most. So thanks Brisbane for just being Brisbane.

What a <strangely naive> comment. Of course I'm not the expert of all things Brisbane. I have never claimed to be such. Unlike you your claim that Brisbane is dead because you don't like it. Oh and a poll answer by 301 people.

As some who spend many weeks suffering hundreds of people around the riverside markets from about 6am on Sunday morning. I rate myself as knowing that people will be there. I also know that very few people are going to be around the valley and the areas you mentioned at 9am on Sunday morning. But the will be lots of people at other places. So having to drop off a rental car one weekend hardly supports you blanket claim.

I also know that brisbane's social scene is much more than pubs and clubs and supermarkets. It might be a quieter town but there is still a very active social life in Brisbane. Despite your opinion.

Starving. Left it a bit late to go to P.A Hospital for blood test and about 29 people waiting before me.

Serves me right.

On jury service today I can best describe it as being exactly like waiting in an airline lounge without any booze waiting for a really delayed flight.

Are they old dears? They constantly stuff me up when going for blood tests. They can barely walk across the car park but as soon as the medical centre door opens they're off like greyhounds. dont get in the way in case you fall and get trampled. Almost requires a stick to beat them back. Monty python-esque skit in blood tests

Can you use their stick or should you bring your own?
Will an olive branch do? :)

I'm not eligible for jury duty, for which I'm extremely thankful for

I served on jury duty for two weeks last year. It was a painful experience. In the end our jury was dismissed..which I'm glad for as one of the jurors, during our deliberations, made the comment "I knew he was guilty from the moment I saw him"..

Sadly jury's probably do represent a fair cross section of society.

I was a former police officer and do not want to serve on jury duty. I've never been called but if I was I wonder if I could say during selection "police never take anyone to court unless they're guilty'. Probably would get me a warning from the judge/magistrate. But I kinda think it's somewhat true.

Apparently I've got a trespassing fruit-thief. She's been chased away three times already but now comes in to my yard...

What sort of thief is it?

I have a flock of coughatoos that visit every morning & afternoon that take delight in thieving my free range chickens food.
Thinking a scarecrow might do the trick

The human type. Both my neighbour and I have sent her on her way but she's taken that as an invitation to let herself into my front yard and fill her bag with goodies. She actually comes prepared with a bag

Just finished up at a Qantas epiQure wine and cheese tasting night. Oh God am I sloshed... #puti
