What is it with sporting interviews where you cannot hear the person asking the question from the floor?

Can be frustrating but lately I'm noticing the coaches (AFL at least) are often tending to answer in a way that lets the viewer know basically what the question was. Don't know if that is deliberate.

Reminds me of the 12th man.

Ian: "Ah, what would I say if you said I repeat everything you say?"

Mike: "Yep that's what I thought you'd say"

Nah, the job looks a bit plain to me. ;) Oh and not being able to fulfil the first four selection criteria sort of rules me out.

Well, you could fib but I think not lion on a tiger job app is important.

#smacks myself over the head.

Withdrew money in the UK from my oz savings account linked to a cc. Had forgotten (it has been a long time) that many ATMs in the UK default to the credit account. I do believe some don't though.

End result.... Cash advance on the CC. Have now requested a maestro card for my account....

Doh.

First day of the first Ashes Test. Poms all out 215 (Siddle got a Michelle); Aussies are 4/75 (including a golden for Cowan a a normal duck for Clarke).

Some might say the Poms are slightly ahead.

But will Day 2 swing like Day 1? Let us hope for some fine dry weather (I know, unlikely ;))

Hey! I'll have you know we've had several days in a row of 25+ degree weather  It was cooling down this evening though, which was a welcome change given I was out playing "summer" hockey.

Indeed. I am loving it. However tonight is a touch chilly. Better than humid though!

Ashton Agar has made history in the first Ashes Test - highest score on debut by a number 11 batsman. He and Philip Huges have also the highest partnership of the innings (currently 70). Not a bad effort for a 19 year old.

Can he make 50?? Can we pass the English innings? Amazing considering where we were an hour ago

Yes. He almost made 100.

I think the nicest thing about Ashton Agars performance is that he's a kid who is simply passionate about cricket and not in it for the money that is hurled at them these days. Almost like "the old days" ;)
