Well I am happy.A good thing about working in a cold place is being able to drink more vintage port.so in the last 2 weeks I have had a St.Hallett's 1944 Anniversary port and now on a Seppetsfield 1962 DP3.
life is good.

What I can't find though is those rice containers, a few years ago I brought my first lot of rice in a container, and now I can't find any rice in a container; they are all in those plastic bags so when you open it up you then have to find a container to store the rice in, which I don't have. CSR sell castor sugar in the container I am looking for but I can't find rice for sale in any container, maybe if you find one in the East you could post it to me.
Try Woolworths Select Peach Slices in Fruit Juice 1kg. Perfect for storing rice and I am using right now in Brisbane.

Rice pudding with peaches?????

Possible, but I'd prefer to use fresh peaches and poach / stew them, rather than pack peaches, which will make it very, very, very sweet.

That said, I don't eat a lot of rice pudding. It's a heavy dessert.

Also - have to ask: dessert wine, port or both? I personally prefer dessert wines (ice wine, Sauternes, De Bortoli) over port. The port seems a very English thing, but to me they are more often than not sickly sweet. That said, at a recent epiQure wine and cheese tasting event, I tasted a port-like wine that was exclusively made for epiQure (I think), and it wasn't sickly sweet but was fantastic in flavour, so many nice notes to it... the only downside probably was the price. There's also a reasonable port that I had before made at Sandalford Wines.

I have always enjoyed the Chateau Reynella...recently finished my last bottle of 1979

Fortified wines in general are not necessarily an English thing. For "Port" consider Iberian.

Or do a trip to Rutherglen. Campbell's Muscat more often than not tops the world at International shows while Pfeiffer's Seriously Fine Pale Dry Apera would give the Spanish a run for their money.

…or try some of the Cypriot Commandarias…

Thanks John great suggestion,

I hope two fruits are ok, brought these last week and eating through them slowly, I give the container the weekend to dry out and I buy some rice next week.
