Which is good in theory and there is definitely a blast of air as trains arrive at and leave the station, but during the 7 minutes between trains it is oppressively still. (at least for my adelaide dry heat acclimatised body.
If there was cooler air in the tunnels, that would help. But sometimes it gets that bad that it is bad regardless.
I remember the day in January that reached 46°C in Sydney. That must have been an awful day. Lucky for me, I was on my way to New Orleans in an Amtrak sleeper.
On that day, people I knew were saying that every non air conditioned train should have been canceled. But if you remove 30% of the trains (as it was at the time) on a Friday afternoon peak, then what?
