erkpod, my thoughts are with your mum and you. Best place you could be - finding out the answers. It's the waiting that is the hardest part...

Just found out a long term colleague (24 years) succumed to cancer this morning. RIP Rob. He retired 3 years ago (early) as our industry changed. Then got diagnosed with prostate less than a year later. Another colleague saw him in June and he looked okay (in treatment). Then by 22 July (last time my other colleague saw him) he looked terrible and we found out he had pancreatic cancer. Thankfully he had enough time to get his affairs in order at the end...

That's a really cruel disease. The partner of one of my colleagues was diagnosed a short while ago. It's been a time of reflection for many of us that we should "get out affairs in order" before we really have to :(

Best wishes to your mother erkpod for a speedy recovery

Just got some internet access again, I'm most definitely searching for my Telstra sim next time I'm in Tas.

Erk, best wishes for you and your mom, hope it all the tests go well.

Agreed folks, life is too short - we have to live for the day.

If anybody is in LST i'm in the Tram bar at the newly minted Best Western (Was a mercure when I booked it 2-3 week's ago?)

Boags pints are going down well

You dont like news papers roll-wrapped?

I dont mind it except it is difficult to keep the newspaper flat.
I hated the fact that it wouldn't stay flat so I'd iron it before reading - a bit of a chore on Saturday mornings.

Best wishes to all facing health issues. Pancreatic cancer is a wicked variety of cancer.

Maybe silly question, but if I have Myers gift cards, can I "prolong" their validity by using them to buy Myers gift cards?

Back from the hospital. Mum's been admitted to the stroke unit at Nepean. I'm so sad.

Thanks to those who have sent well wishes. I don't know you guys that well & vice versa but I love the AFF community.
