I work two days followed by two nights, then four off. You get used to it.
I am sure you get used to it. No wonder you don't spend much time at home! ;)

My perfect roster would be 3 on 4 off (or even 4 on 3 off) aligned to weekends. I could do it right now at my current job but it defeats the purpose of the commute.

I assume she's one of those people who does not care for Business or First class travel.

I used to be one of these people.

I had my first lounge experience in February this year (VX at LAX). I started out as VFF red in October & I'll be gold at the end of the month.

I have traveled domestic J (Australia) & F (US) but I don't think I'd pay the long haul prices for Y+, J or F with cash only.

After the earlier news, I needed some cheering up. Thank you to everyone who sent kind thoughts my way. That helped to cheer me up, as did going to my Place of Employment, moving some trains around my depot. It's nice to know that people who barely know me sent comforting thoughts my way, much more than many people who actually know me have.

On my way home, I spotted a road sign that made me really happy. Apart from anything else, I'm a bit of a sign nerd & I saw the newly uncovered M4 alpha numeric sign at my local motorway exit. So of course I had to stop.

I wonder what a suitable penalty would be for the person who invented plastic roll-wrapping newspapers. Apart from the obvious, of course.

The roll is better than the flat pack we now have in Adelaide where the paper lies in puddles.

I wish we could opt out of the local free newspaper that lands on our lawn every week. We get two of them weekly, and they don't even cover the council area we are in! Mostly cough articles anyhow.

You dont like news papers roll-wrapped?

I dont mind it except it is difficult to keep the newspaper flat.

Totally agree. When we go on holidays we cancel our paid papers but those (weekly) suburban papers we can't cancel scream "hello, no one home here". I usually leave them lying around so people can't tell whether we're home or away. But my next door neighbour whose 90 and as frail as, keeps visiting us and bringing them in. Sigh.

You might remember a discussion this time last week that I led about carer's leave. I just got back from taking my mum to her GP. Turns out that she probably had a stroke Saturday week ago & it is affecting her speech, brain function, co-ordination & speech. She's having a brain CT done tomorrow.

Oh crikey, hope she'll be OK.

That's rough. I hope the scan goes well.

Bless! And he probably thinks he's doing you a favour...while being able to tell people about his lazy neighbours that can't be bothered picking up their papers. LOL.

I live on a corner block with my letterbox on the side street. The driveway is on the main street.

I get the papers thrown in the general direction of my letterbox. I get the papers thrown in the general direction of my driveway. I get the papers thrown in the general direction of my neighbour on the side street that miss his driveway/letterbox & end up on my lawn.

We get 4 local papers a week,

Excellent, time to organise my client trip there for next week then :D

Finally - we have Sunshine on the Sunshine Coast:D

Pretty sure this stretch of 4 clear sunny days in a row would be the first for around 7 months. Forecast looks brilliant for the next week too - my solar panels are rocking:cool:

The enhanced yellow pages weight generally assists to flatten the questionable existing mood for the modern day tabloid.. ;)

Uh-oh. CT results confirm a stroke. On doctor's orders, I've just taken mum to emergency for more tests etc. I could be here a while.
