Where's this photo been hiding?

You probably won’t remember a Melbourne Late Show and Victorian Premier - Joan Kirner's rendition of Joan Jett's - "I Love Rock and Roll".

But look closely at the leather mini-skirt clad go-go dancer girl ogling her star!

WOW - aint that just a great picture?

I loved The Late Show and I remember her in that skit.

Mick Molloy and Tony Brown in **** Scared were my fave skits!

Mick & Tony Martin did the opening stand up & their vox pops from the streets were awesome. It was Rob who should have needed a new body after being the stuntman.

Any tips of places to grab a sneaky sleep in or around the qantas end of BNE?
I hope you are getting some serious sleep now.

There is a lot of merit to being able to sleep in a lounge chair. I have done it many times. I know not all can do it though....

So how cold is it in BNE? 20 degrees? Fair dinkum you have no idea what cold is.

And what's this pyjamas thing? Unless I in a premium cabin in the plane I don't wear them.

No, 11C or less!! And I live in a wooden house ...

Hmm, well. A lady wouldn't discuss her night time attire in public ...

But, after epxeriencing evacuating my house at ~4am due to flooding, I'm rather keen on PJs!!!

And I am a big fan of Peter Alexander.

But if Italians and Greeks had such an influence in Brisbane/Queensland then it should be visible as it is in Sydney, Melbourne and other Australian cities.

There is no point in assimilating without leaving something visible for those to follow.

You may need to look in different places. I went to Lutwyche shopping centre yesterday, and spotted three different groups of older Italian men (all speaking Italian amongst one another) in the food court. I notice this frequently on Saturdays; it's been a while since I was there on a week day.

I would say things have changed a bit since the 90s when the deli was still open (independent Italian one) in that centre, but it's still quite Italian. There's also an Italian club up the road at Newmarket. Having attended Catholic schools in Brisbane, I have definitely felt a strong Italian presence in this city. My husband who went to state schools does ot have this same feel of an Italian presence.
My local fruit & veg shop is also very Italian in feel, and there's a strongly Italian cafe in another shopping centre up the road (as well as the very Italian one at Lutwyche).

That moment when the worm turns.

I offered a friend who could be something more the chance to come to Melbourne with me. All I asked was that she fly herself here & back & I'd look after the rest because the accommodation would be the same price for 1 or 2. Eventually she said no because she's a foodie & would want to spend all the time eating. I'd want to spend all my time watching live music according to her.

I figured out the real reason - money (or a lack thereof).

Spoke to her on the phone yesterday & told her I was going to the AFL game. Today she texted me asking if I enjoyed the game & I told her that I had a good time & was back at Eithad today watching another game, involving her team (that I'd never known about in 13 yrs of knowing her).

Then she wonders out loud that we could go to Melbourne to watch an AFL game (all expenses paid by me). I tell her it would have to be next season because I'm out of leave & the finals are around the corner.

Then after I get back from dinner, she asks when is she going to see me (we live 3 hrs apart) via a text, attaching a photo of her in a neck brace. Later, I get a voicemail saying that she's sent through a photo of her cat (got it with the voicemail) & that she's going to bed soon because she's working at o'dark thirty tomorrow. So at the best, she's attached the wrong photo to the original text. At worst, she's hoping for a panic phone call from me asking is she ok.

Oh boy!

OR ... she thinks you have a peculair liking for neck braces???
