Citi called Mrscove at 1am on her Australian phone to offer her a limit increase. We had told them our travel dates but that was ignored.

You can put your phone (iPhone, at least) on 'Do not disturb' so it goes silent ring 2200h-0700h to avoid those middle-of-the-night calls when overseas.

Bob Hawke received an expiation notice for failing to wear a seatbelt (when he was the head honcho), however his behaviour was observed by television cameras...

I recall that being Keating, in Joh's Queensland. Interviewed in the car on camera.

You consented to Citi allowing you to be offered credit increases?

100,000 QF points for sale on eBay, $1600 odd. Same price as 90,000 AA miles. Are people mad?

I was flipping through an electronics catalogue while I was waiting for my coffee this morning. As the attendant handed me my coffee he noticed what I was reading and said 'You don't need any more gadgets, Jess'.

Hmmm.
What are you missing? ;)

Another story about someone having a long wait in a hospital emergency department in Sydney...

News soundbyte about a teenage girl writhing around in pain for 9 hours. Not sure what her condition was. While I have sympathy, is this news? Is it only news because there's an election on?

I spent 12 hours in Emergency one night with kidney stones & I didn't get past the triage nurse. I never got seen by a doctor & I ended up going to my GP. All I had was Vitamin M.

Then when I called my Roster God to tell him I'm going sick, he says "But you've got a good job!" - funny how the mention of kidney stones & Vitamin M changed that conversation.

An 11 year old girl waited for 11 hours suffering gallstones. Denied pain relief as well.

Not sure about elections but I think service at public hospitals can be atrocious at times. This comes from personal experience twice in the past couple of years.

Further update about the story I mentioned - it was a teenage girl with appendix issues. She got an apology from the Health Minister.

I remember I did put a complaint in & git a matter of fact statement saying that there was a doctor shortage that night.

We need to keep the Emergency departments for emergencies. I know that there are some programs in place to help (my local has an After Hours clinic) but they aren't open all night.
