I hope you didnt pay extra for the view. ;)

I would have thought you could see the Eiffel Tower from almost anywhere in Paris.

Im staying in a budget hotel well away from the city centre; being able to see the tower was a pleasant surprise.

Lifemiles can get you out on the Monday for $900 worth of miles (when on a promo which is likely in Oct) and $166 Taxes. J has better availability for 50% more.
Thanks. I didn't think of Avianca. The only issue there is waiting for a promotion in October by which time it could be too late.

BMI came to the rescue the past few years but we booked earlier. This year for some some reason my friend has not been as motivated. Back in July airfares were ~AUD1,200 and they have been slowly going up.

I think best to join up to Lifemiles and wait and see.

I was always told the best view in Paris is from the Tour de Montparnasse as from there you cant see the Tour de Montparnasse.
A fond memory is sipping our complimentary champagne viewing the Eiffel Tower from our balcony of the Paris Hilton.Back in the days when a 6 night award stay was a real bargain.

Not many romantics here! There a few things better than a room with an Eiffel view...

W@nker in the OOL lounge right now.

Seriously thinks the world revolves around him. Sick and tired of his loud conversations on the phone and the arrogant attitude. Why do people have to constantly make themselves look stupid?

Should I point out the grammar error?

We climbed up to Sacre Cour last night; that is a spectacular view! Lots of steps but definitely worth it.

I'm currently sitting in my room so two friends drinking a bottle of champagne we got for free enjoying the view.

Maybe I am getting old? Maybe I am just feeling generous? Maybe I have lost my marbles?

Whatever the cause, it's a strange feeling booking a QF A380 F seat for someone else using my AAdvantage miles.

But when presented with 25,000 miles for Y, or 45,000 for F, I found myself with no real choice in the matter. I hope my son enjoys the flight home after 6 months living on less than a shoe-string in Tonga, China and Micronesia! I wonder if I should tell him or just let him find out when he boards and is told to turn left? He is unlikely to even check the seat number until he is on the plane!

I wouldn't tell him :D

I am thinking of just telling him that since I booked it using FF Miles that he can use the F class check-in and visit the lounge (he has done that before with me even when flying Y so won't sound unusual to him). At least that way he gets some of the benefits of QF F. I wonder what the Y check-in agent would say to him if he had queued for 30 mins waiting for check-in?

Either way, nice one Dad!

Nah, just means you've reached the age where you get much more pleasure out of indulging your kids than you would indulging yourself, NM. I'm sure your indulgence reflects the type of son he is .......

Good one...I hope he doesn't expect to head to the F check in every time :)

Turns out Hotmail/Outlook wants to send a code everytime you check your email.

That is such a stupid idea. I sign in to Hotmail and then sign in to Google to receive a code to enter back in Hotmail.

But if your alternate email address is also Hotmail then you are screwed and need a third email address.
