Turns out Hotmail/Outlook wants to send a code everytime you check your email.

That is such a stupid idea. I sign in to Hotmail and then sign in to Google to receive a code to enter back in Hotmail.

But if your alternate email address is also Hotmail then you are screwed and need a third email address.

Are you sure it's just not some once off verification step?

I can't remember the exact process, but I did go through that once. I think it was just to verify I had an alternate account (for emergency purposes etc.). Having logged in after that it was all honky dory.

I think it is a two-step verification process everytime you check your email away from your regular computer.

Which means when I am in SIN, HKG, KUL etc and want to quickly check my email it won't be so quick. Especially as I have more than one email account.

It must be aviation day on Nat Geo. I just caught the end of a doco about the construction of the A380 (seen it before).

Now there's a doco about airline catering. *waits for a feature about butter*

When I stayed in Paris, I flew in & stayed close to CDG. I did a couple of day trips out of CDG (one flight, one TGV) & did the train trip into downtown for a couple of days.

I agree. I stayed in a pretty ordinary apartment with hopeless beds and non functioning kitchen once. But it had a view of the tower. We were happy.

Weve got the tiniest beds; if I roll over I'm at risk of falling out! No alarm clocks, face washers or hand towels either. But the room is otherwise ok and the view ain't too bad. Off to Rome today.

When should we have the next MEL drinks to celebarate your triumphant return?

I've always found it entertaining watching what roams around in SLO ;)

I've got friends in SLO that I'm trying to convince to get into their van & drive around looking for the bear & solve mysteries. Ok, so they don't have a van...

I was always a very responsible, conservative, conscientious person when in SLO.

You'd usually find me at Mothers or The Library ;)

Looks like I'm going shopping tomorrow morning... as the fridge door broke off and is unrepairable.

That's disappointing.........

Although it shows it may have been a few years since I was there.....

I did karaoke in Mothers in 2009. I think it's still an entertainment venue though.

I was there earlier this year & will be there in February next year.

I can't believe hotmail is still around, I thought that it disappeared years ago, along with work ethic, manners, common decency and morals...

It's been amalgamated into Microsoft's new Outlook online service. You can still keep your hotmail address, though new signups are now offered @outlook.com addresses, which are a lot more classy.

The online infrastructure isn't actually that bad, but I still prefer Gmail by two miles.

The main thing now is that people often know that you don't give a hotmail address when you apply for a job, much less a hotmail address which looks like your gaming screen name or matchmaking account name.
