The early 2000s (Northern Eagles days) must have been an unhappy time for you then, drron? They certainly were for most Bears supporters I think, rubbing salt into the wound of a foundation club being forced out of the competition despite staying loyal to the ARL during the super league debacle. It suddenly became a big money game and the Bears didn't have any...
I lived not far from North Sydney Oval in the early '80s and loved Sunday afternoons down there.

Very definitely sad times. We always hoped it would not take a 100 years between premierships.:(:)
Being a Bears supporter was also why I was a traitor and followed the maroons.I don't think there was a year that QLD didn't have a Bear's player.

Anyone want to come unpack my suitcase for me? New suitcase, looks like its gone a few rounds in the ring...

At least the baggage handlers had fun throwing your bag around. As for unpacking, do you know any 2-3 year olds? Point them at the bag and let them unpack it for you!

Id say so! At least the bottles of Chianti and limoncello survived. I've pretty much emptied the entire thing into the washing machine. It's so nice to wear something other than the 6 tops and two pants I've been living in.

Just watched the Grand Final, maybe I just didn't care because I didn't like any of the teams in the Grand Final, the end result Sydney Roosters 26 beat Manly 18.

Maybe I just hate Manly a little more, so the right team won.
Right team did not win but just like the semi-final probably one of the best games you are likely to see.

Shame I got the times wrong with daylight saving and I did not get to watch it. No point watching it now.

I missed the first 25 minutes because of day light savings starting.

Did you have a good drive Bill?

Well Bill made it to Melbourne and now he is on a plane to Cairns, Facebook tells all.

That was going to be my suggestion, as long as you don't mind mixing colours!

I never understood this washing thing about mixing colours (or rather, not).

Are there still plenty of clothes out there that have colours which run (especially after the first or second wash)?

I know new denim may run (but many now sell as pre-washed), but then I usually only wash jeans (denim) with other jeans or heavy, dark trousers.

I tend to do one wash. And yes, some clothes do run and need to be watched (mainly dark red or blue shirts / underwear and similar)

I use colour catcher sheets in my washes to help catch any stray dye floating around, but still occasionally get caught out. Pink and/or blue white shirts are so appealing!

We all know what happened to this guy who wore a pink shirt to work, right?

I don't know Mal...I think you'd go fairly well in a pink shirt :p

I don't own many dark red shirts. I have a dark blue business shirt but that doesn't seem to run. In fact, most business shirts don't seem to run, which is a relief.

Mrs Buzzard sorts washing into about 10 different catagories

When I'm on my own (like now) I sort into 3 - clothes, bed linen, towels

Time to buy "colour catcher" product from Dylon at your supermarket (10 sheets) and there is a You Tube on it. The other brand is Punch so you can get out of trouble in the washing.

Or make your own leaving more money for travel:

The color catcher is a piece of white something with soda ash solution dried onto it. You can make your own with soda ash, usually sold in swimming pool supply areas of hardware stores. (Grandma called it washing soda.) Just put a tablespoon of the dry soda into a cup of hot water until it dissolves. Put in a yard of white junk fabric, or ratty toweling, and let it become saturated. Let it dry. Cut off a piece and wash it with your bleedable fabric. The soda ash grabs and holds the dye. You can make a lifetime supply of color catchers with a buck or two of soda ash. For those of you who tie dye, this is exactly the technique for pre-treating fabric before applying dye. Soda plus cotton grabs loose dye molecules.

My washing categories:

Schoolboy uniform
Jeans/cargo pants
T-shirts (huge range of black)
Socks & jocks (can go with others)
Towels/sheets.

My washing categories:

Load one, load two if required. :)

Everything is old enough now that they're colourfast.

If I ever buy new clothes again I wash them alone once and then they either survive or die in the regular load.

2014 is going to be a big year for me when it comes to potentially checking out major public transit developments.

New electric train networks in Adelaide & Auckland.

New light rail system on the Gold Coast & the extension of the network in Sydney.

Major redevelopment & reconstruction around the Perth CBD.

I'm hoping all of these will be ready by my annual leave in July.

Info booth on the gold coast were indicating ~ June 2014 for the light rail there. And a light rail / tram every ~7 minutes supposedly!
