Info booth on the gold coast were indicating ~ June 2014 for the light rail there. And a light rail / tram every ~7 minutes supposedly!

Certainly possible if things are running well & if they've ordered enough sets. From what I've seen in person & read online, most (if not all) of the track is in its on dedicated corridor so it won't have some of the problems Melbourne has on shared sections.

Crosses a few streets (so potential delays there) but there seems to be very little shared track/road sections.

Now if they'd just extend it to OOL.....

That was going to be my suggestion, as long as you don't mind mixing colours!

The only thing I didnt throw in was a new navy t-shirt; everything else was fair game (has been washed enough not to be a problem). Suitcase empty and stored, just need to locate the couch under a pile of stuff and put away the booze

I feel sad when someone writes a death notice for someone else & they couldn’t even use a piece of paper. In this case, a paper towel.

Bring it along on the 19th and we will all help put it away!

2014 is going to be a big year for me when it comes to potentially checking out major public transit developments.

New electric train networks in Adelaide & Auckland.

New light rail system on the Gold Coast & the extension of the network in Sydney.

Major redevelopment & reconstruction around the Perth CBD.

I'm hoping all of these will be ready by my annual leave in July.
2014 is going to be a big year in Melbourne's rail network....nothing's happening;)

I'm interested in opinions.
I was locked in a bank for 75 mins last night due to a mechanical failure. (Those who follow me on FB know the story... It is a good one). I was by myself but not in the main part of the bank.
Based on that length of time and understanding that I am a customer of said bank, what do you think is appropriate compensation?
Is a sorry enough? Or would you have a figure in mind?

I already told you. 500 quid and a date with the bank manager (assuming said person is female :D).

I think you can only legally claim for actual loss. How much do you charge an hour? :p.

Any chance you could repost the situation here and not on Facebook? Sounds interesting?

The simple explanation.. Went to use an ATM, was required to enter a secure room. Door failed and I was trapped inside.

Ok. That would freak me out a little. A lift would be worse though. Are you sure there wasn't a 'gotcha' camera inside? :p

Lol. The only cams were bank cams and I bet they showed a great picture. The room was fine. 6m x 3m probably. Air con, full glass walls. Oh and an ATM ;)

I think appropriate compensation would be to give you 60 seconds on which to withdraw as much cash as you can from the ATM (gratis of course, their money, not yours). ;)

A sorry is a good idea. I can't imagine banks have established compensation processes unless the inconvenience cost you money (of which then the compensation is the said amount). Since when has a bank paid punitive / goodwill compensation apart from when contested in a legal situation?

If you want to put a LOTFAP spin on it, perhaps try talking to a legal person about possibility of filing negligence charges, and another one - not sure what it's called - basically holding, restraining or confining someone against their will...

Yes... then they turn on the powerful air blower.

I think I saw that on a game show. :p

Personally i'd strike it up to "stuff happens" and accept a written apology, unless there was an actual loss incurred other than time.

If the bank charges fees then maybe a fee waiver period would work with an apology from that bank.

As long as your account with that bank.

Could people on the outside see you stuck in there?

I'll bet if you tried to destroy the ATMs, an alarm would have sounded and help would have been there in minutes.
