What kind of car are we talking?

This is the car I have always wanted

Captain Obvious from NSW Health tells us that there's smoke in the Sydney area from the fires in the Blue Mountains.

There's been 5 arrests so far for arson, all of them are children/teenagers.

I get sad when I see a beautiful car of my vintage destroyed by "inappropriate" modifications.

Kids these days just have no respect.

I'll take you for a ride in my slightly modified classic benz one day.. Still plays the music from the eighties on the wireless though..

1984 BMW E30 323i JPS Limited Edition

I have been in the market for a JPS for a while now. Although the 323i isn't a particularly special model (or particularly old), the JPS is a pretty special car. It is one of the few stock cars from BMW that really gets me excited.

This owner has destroyed it with modifications, and very tacky "racing" seats. The kind of thing you would see in a "hoon's" vehicle.

I had a 1990 E30 316, 1990 E30 320, 1988 E30 318 and a 1996 E36 328

Loved all of them, but my favourite was the E30 320. This was all years ago though, back home in Ireland...

Interesting first week in Milton.

Bed creaks. Floor boards creak. Chainsaws going at midnight. Well lit at all times. Strange noises through the night constantly wake me up.

The good thing though is it takes 15 minutes from the time I leave the office to the time I walk in the front door.

I will keep an eye out on what properties are available just in case....

Sounds like a Chucky Movie..

How long since the bed has creaked for you John? ;)

the bush fires are a tragedy, and I don't know why people don't have insurance, or why they build there in the first place or why they want to rebuild after (knowing it's all likely to happen again).

but when it comes to compensation, I guess many of us do things that get a bite at the government hand-out cherry... eat too much, smoke, drink too much, get injured playing sports, fall off mountains, get rescued at sea, child care subsidy, tax benefit A, tax benefit B, building in a flood zone, lose control of a car (covered by TAC or equivalent), swallow things we're not supposed to and need emergency care, don't go to the doctor often enough, or go too often.... all costs to the tax payer.

but I suppose gives us the peace of mind we enjoy living in a wealthy country.

Hope it was a quiet night

For incidents in my area, it was. We did have 3 strike teams out of area in the Blue Mountains last night & 2 today.

Off to bed now. Back at 2100.

Went for a short walk after the shift to the fire station next door - a heap of crews were setting out for the day including a couple of trucks from City of Sydney (Station 1).

Any of you guys see footage of Malala meeting the Queen? What about that gem of a comment from Buck House's resident rocket scientist HRH Prince Flip?

This as lifted from CNN site:

In his inimitable fashion, the Queen's husband, Prince Philip, made a joke about children and education when meeting Malala at the palace.

"It's one thing about children going to school," he said, "they go to school because their parents don't want them in the house."

I have tried to find and post a link to the video but am not that puter savvy - anybody?
