Little Miss Simo will only eat strawberries that we get from the Hinterland and around us.

We where away and purchased some from a chain supermarket and she said they are Yucky...

She is getting to be a Gourmet food hound as she will not drink Pauls or Dairy Farmers Milk but will only drink Maleny Dairies milk as it fresh from just around the corner.

If we only have a little bit of Maleny Daires milk we have to stretch it by putting some of SWMBO light milk in with the Maleny Dairies milk but can not show her that we have done it.

Yikes, I thought Markis10jr was fussed re vegetables!

or is it just me? do others prefer to be called customers?

I have got to the stage in life where I don't give a damn what I am called, just kindly bring me a drop from the J cabin.

I like Beetroot chips but not many at a time.

Just be careful - if they are the same brand as the ones we were eating, they contain huge amounts of palm oil, which is not only an environmental nightmare, but also really REALLY bad for you. Sadly, we now avoid them.

They are an organic chip.

Can not eat too many of them but

I think Passenger mainly due to the reason is that we are travelling.

To me a customer does not involve carriage.

At my Place of Employment, customer is the word of choice at the moment. Some people joke that passengers pay fares but they wanted to include those who don't, hence customer.

There's often now another meaning of the word customer that also gets used. It's an internal one where for example, I call security, rosters, timekeeper etc. I'm a customer of theirs because they are providing me a service.

Great quality of camera...

I wonder when will get that in my mobile phone.

Nokia has a 41mp camera.

Well, that is different. But I dont buy much of those things anyway so can't compare. But you do know what I am getting at, dontcha! :)

Not quite.

I bought 4 x 250gm cherry tomatoes from Coles when they were on special for $1 each. Clearance? Finished them ~3 weeks later and they were still in good condition.

Bought some grape tomatoes (cherry tomatoes were the size of plums) yesterday from Fruity Capers and got some out this morning and noticed some already starting to look like prunes.

Specialty does not necessarily mean better.

Close to $20 would seem to be the Woolies cost with a few substitutions and of course the need to be closer to Easter, only the Malteasers are on special:

I often suspect the "special" price is what we really should be paying, in the case of fruit and veg that will mean pricing equivalent to the farmers markets.

Pricing the pictured groceries up at Asda which would be a lot closer to Woolies in terms of Supermarket types than M&S is around $12.
Supermarkets are one of the things that I really miss living here. Coles and Woolies aren't even half as good as the equivalent standard chains in the UK in terms of product range, display and pricing.
Now if Waitrose were to open here I would be in supermarket heaven

Getting back to the milk, my brother in law (New England area) leaves a churn at the front gate of his farm plus some goodies (eggs, veggies for example) and the farmer next door fills/exchanges the churn with milk straight from the cow and takes the goodies. Cash has never swapped hands. Sometimes the farmer next door might ask for a chook or a duck or something else.
Its great to see some communities still live like this.

Which brings me to a saying.....

Why buy milk when you've got the old cow at home?

That would no doubt break all sorts of Hygiene laws in Australia. Sigh.

I love to hear the excuses used most of the time to justify the high prices in Australia.

Oh and those that shop at IGA and think that it is better than Woolworths/Coles? Is there a secret? I saw an iceberg lettuce the other day for $4.99! Some items on special but the majority more expensive.

£1 for that here!
