Not only sushi; almost any Asian food establishment that insists on cash only.

I refuse to spend money in any establishment that has a Cash Only sign.

It just screams "I don't pay any tax" to me... I will happily pay a few dollars more to support a legitimate business.

And some of my better golf was with a horrendous hangover... :o

Then again, I'm not very good.
I have done this on more than one occasion. Very high on adrenalin and everything going OK.

Although as soon as the golf is over the adrenalin disappears and I have an almighty headache and every vein in my body is pounding. Not a good feeling at all.

Actually there was an eating establishment in Melbourne who, many years ago had their credit card and EFTPOS machines removed by the banks because of the wholesale fraud, i.e. card skimming, by the staff,

I remember going to Vlado's (legend restaurant in MEL - in it's day) just after the GST started.....when I paid the bill (big boozy work lunch) I asked for a tax invoice - the bloke promptly pulled out a stamp and planted TAX INVOICE on the postit style, back of a fa_ packet receipt :D

What he neglected to mention was that it was bumper bowling ;)
In my experience bumper bowling is much harder.

I miss ten pin bowling. At one time I was in 3 leagues on a Thursday/Friday night. Another of the casualties of tendonitis.

I believe Vlado's will be closing soon.

Just saw Driver Trainer expressions of interest for intake in February. Apart from the fact I won't be in the country then, it's not worth the extra $152/week in stress.

There was reference to such on the 3AW rumour file early this week - the next day this was specifically refuted.

Though I notice serfty's later post, which is somewhat reassuring.

Only ate there once, many years ago, but possibly the best steak I ever had.

I know Vlado himself has gone to that great grill in the sky, but still keen to revisit one day.

The Professionals star Lewis Collins has died aged 67, his agent has said.

The actor, who played Bodie in the cult 1970s TV series, alongside Martin Shaw, died in Los Angeles after a five-year struggle with cancer.

A great show and one that was in many ways prescient of future problems that the world would face. It still stands up well today.

Loved that show, surprised Martin Shaw is only a year older, he looked closer to 10-20 years older in the show.

Latest figures about violence in Sudney pubs & clubs. The top venue had 26 incidents in a year. That's not a lot when you think how many alcohol & drug affected idiots would be in these venues in a year.

I wish my trains would have anywhere near the security these pubs would have.

That is sad news.....great steaks and one of a kind service style! Punching the steaks was kinda unique too....

FWIW the website makes no mention of a closure About Vlado's, The Red Meat SpecialistsVlado's

It's not cheap, but it is very good food (and generous serves IIRC).

I haven't been for ages... but now I want to go now, LOL

Lets do a Vlado's MEL do? :p
