Sane? Me? :p

I get to repeat a part of the Xmas train trip but this time, I'm up the front in F! *evil laugh*

I'm off to Bondi Junction, Cronulla & Richmond today.

So do you get into the spirit either in dress or announcements? (noting of course you'll save the spirits for the flights.)

Or a bah humbug type?

Totally annoyed. Found out under T-24h that I'm now working Xmas Day. Barely legal times between shifts, almost max km & no shops will be open.

If I was looking forward to Xmas lunch & dinner, I'll get neither as I sign on at 1110.

The kicker is that under my Plan A, I'd be on Long Service Leave & that tomorrow, I'd be flying out on VA1 to LAX.

Not happy...

Would this be because other people are taking sickies?

Santa was on my train the other day & drove me mad with the Xmas announcements. He truly thought he was Santa. I actually did make some Xmas style announcements ("We are getting a new bridge for Xmas this year so there will be trackwork") to try & counter-act it a little.

Guards make the announcements here so I'll probably say nothing.

What's probably happened is that someone has sookylalaed about working Xmas so they've rung up the roster clerk & asked for it off. If it wasn't Xmas, I would have been working today anyway so they've changed me from not required (8 hrs pay at single rates) to required (double time & an additional public holiday day).

I have heard of people being told to take Santa hats off before. I did wear a Santa hat once on Xmas Eve but I forgot to stop at a station so I haven't done that since.

I worded that badly. If there's a change at T-48 & sooner, I must be told & I must be in agreement. If I don't agree, it doesn't happen. Early than T-48, I don't have a leg to stand on...
Sounds too complex for my liking.

Work is not that important to me anymore and I dont need to make serious sacrifices for my employer. At least not my holidays which are booked months in advance. Another reason why I avoid project work like the plague and prefer to work flexible hours.

I saw this photo & under the circumstances, I had to have a laugh. Train was plan C today.

Did you hear about the Irish Turkey?

It was looking forward to Christmas
Jimeoin on the project the other night!

It is amazing what demand does to hotel prices.

Dated hotels with smelly rooms I wouldn't stay in at ~AUD20-AUD25/night are now going for ~AUD60-AUD90/night when they have rooms available and are full of Russians.

Blessing in disguise for the owners and must feel like winning the lottery.

Merry christmas to all.

I have just got home from a busier day at work than I was hoping. Oh well. Now where's that Christmas Cheer? :)

What city is that?

Does anyone know how those temporary message signs are programmed?

There's one near work that is programmed for some summer festival across town rather than for a bridge closure starting tomorrow.

Endless summer festival? It rained all day today & my trains didn't like it much.

There's floods in Kent & Surrey apparently. We're in Surrey but up on a hill, so we should be OK!

Up on a hill, I hope all will be well. But it can feel a bit like you're stranded on an island in the middle of nowhere. Luckily, supplies arrived just in time ;) ;) :p

Started spitting in London earlier, but I'm now in the Heathrow ecosystem and the weather is fine ;)
(Unless my flight gets delayed or cancelled).
