Rumor has it that our most senior operational person is putting on a hell of a breakfast tomorrow, the kind you want to be at work for!

On NYE, there's a crew BBQ at Central. Too bad if you don't get on/off at Central, though!

Christmas Eve dinner. Just got over preparing quite a bit last night and this morning.

The kicker was last night in preparing a dessert that called for whipped cream. The handheld beater we normally use broke the blade and there wasn't any other electrical beaters left in the house. So I was reduced to using the mechanical egg beaters to beat the cream. A job that normally took 5 minutes or less took about 20 minutes.

Boy were my arms sore after that.

Stay away from shopping centres on Christmas Eve. It is chaos out there.

The queue of ~40 at the Greek butchers was interesting. Patiently waiting to collect their lamb to prepare for the spit.

Today I've cooked strawberry pavlova roulade; turkey and a glazed ham. Tomorrow I'm cooking another glazed ham, two chickens and the usual vegetables and reheating the pudding made a few weeks ago. I'm going away next year. Or not eating if not.

Totally annoyed. Found out under T-24h that I'm now working Xmas Day. Barely legal times between shifts, almost max km & no shops will be open.

If I was looking forward to Xmas lunch & dinner, I'll get neither as I sign on at 1110.

The kicker is that under my Plan A, I'd be on Long Service Leave & that tomorrow, I'd be flying out on VA1 to LAX.

I'm on shift now (on my meal break) & am off the clock at 2303. I am available for my next shift tomorrow (starting at 1110) by 7 minutes.

As a result of my job, I don't drink much. Having 3 Wild Turkeys on the train trip to Canberra was a lot for me.

I (quite rightly) have to be 0.00 from the time I leave home to go to work until I sign off duty. If I register anything on the way to work on an RBT, the cop can arrest me if they know what they are doing, even if I'm under 0.05.
