Come and play golf in South Australia. Then tell us how a 44 degree dry breeze is cooling.

Isn't there a giant golf course located along a long stretch of highway in the Nullabor?

I mean, it looks very rocky, no water traps....

We (Victoria) have enough trouble supplying electricity on the hot days without me adding to the load.

There's another thing. Why not enough power to go around at times?

SA, or at least Adelaide, seems to suffer from a similar fate.

I'm going to guess it's not sudden population expansion or rise in average affluence. I'm assuming it's not a brown coal thing (cf. QLD where we have black coal, as well as decent hydro).

Just odd when you think at least for MEL, that's an important population centre of at least 4 million people.....

On Saturday we had 3, yes 3, blackouts. Luckily they were for short periods of time.

Are we really living in the 21st Century

Electricity is a national product which is shared and regulated by the AEMO, to put events into context for the southern states:

This week, Victoria and South Australia has recorded the highest levels of electricity consumption since January 2009, with a maximum demand of 10,151 MW recorded in Victoria and 3,046 MW recorded in South Australia yesterday.
In South Australia, AEMO’s current estimate suggests electricity consumption of around 3,200 MW and 3,360 MW over the next three days (Wednesday, Thursday, Friday). Electricity on a typical weekday at this time of the year in South Australia is around 1,980 MW.

The AEMO direct ETSA and others to load shed when the grid is under strain.

SA and Victoria are at the mercy of the National Electricity Grid. And when demand is high they zoom up the cost. Probably the one thing that has saved Adelaide from too many blackouts has been that it was school holidays and industry yet to fully resume. Although, industry demand is falling here. These factors plus a lot of solar panels have saved us a bit. There was no load shedding this time and blackouts were for local reasons only (trees down, car accidents etc etc)

I think Serfty is in for a shock when he watches his Superbowl recording. The Broncos need a miracle from here.Touchdown from the second half kickoff was amazing.

Off-Topic, in an On-Topic sort of way, which is the correct forum for asking questions/recommendations about US based status runs?

For runs to get QF status, use the QFF forum.

For runs to get VA status, use the VFF forum.

For any other programme, try to use their forum.

If there is no such forum, just file it in General Discussion or Your Questions.

If it's a specific routing and time, consider Flight Search Assistance (but do note it is honour payment).

I played golf in Bellingen once at it was way hotter than that with high humidity. Not fun but I did it.

I played golf at Fox Hills in what must have been 42-43 degree heat with the soot from the nearby bushfires in Emu Plains falling and covering the golf course.

Heat unless you are in danger is only a state of mind. I refuse to play golf in freezing conditions.

I played Royal Beerwah in a thunderstorm.
Just made sure I used my 1 iron of the tee.
