One of my better golf trips last week.

I played Monday-Friday and scored 31 points off 7, 29 points off 6, 29 points off 6, 36 points off 6 (78 at Siam Plantation with 13 pars is about as good as it gets for me) and finally 26 points off 6 on a tough golf course to finish but I was mentally and physically tired by then.

I had a second and 3 thirds. I will be off 5 when I return in June.

That's very good consistent golf. Is that handicap for Thailand only or is it tied to Golf Link ?

Huh, don't understand the issue, commodores are sold with Chev badges around the world, why knock an Aussie export success???

Bogans in AUH???

Reminds me of a friend in the States who wants the front bumper (and badge) off a Commodore for his Chev.

JohnK , good luck with your current tests. I nearly was sent for a biopsy once due to fluctuating readings. But seems some tablets had masked the results.

We had notebook computers :p

As did we!

Unfortunately the doctor calling is only an intern at the clinic I visit at the hospital and mentioned an elevated count in the blood test that needs to be monitored closely.

I have done some research and the test is related to damage caused to liver by a certain medication I have been on for long time.

Best case scenario is the abnormality remains stable and I continue with the medication. Worse case scenario is the abnormality increases and I have to reduce the dose or stop medication altogether. May also require biopsy.

Without the medication the pain is unbearable.

Ah the joys of life.

Hope all works out, such is the fun and games of getting old(er)! :D

Read this somewhere, (maybe here, I don't remember) anyway:

"I don't like getting old, but it is preferable to the alternative."

Hope things turn out ok JK.

Did you at least have calculators? :p

I remember calculators being around in 1975 but being hugely expensive. As all teenage boys are want to do we quickly learnt to misuse them and write rude words using the numbers. ;)

I actually learnt to use a slide rule but for the life of me couldn't use it now.

Is trigonometry still taught using those books with lots of little figures?

I think for me, Shell Oil was the first one I was told... :p

EDIT: And I think I've mentioned to hvr where I would have been in 1975... :p

According to an email from VFF this morning, they are sending me 2 J seats from a 777 to my PO Box. Good luck with that!

No. Golf society handicap in Thailand only. For some reason I play better and hit the ball further in Thailand. Wish I could do the same here.

What did I create :o

One of my favourite threads! :p

This thread just - works! everyone here "get's it" and its a fun read about everything and anything.

It's almost like a grown up version of twitter.

I'm so glad that I have found this thread. It's good to see that there's more to people than their status level & what they do for a job.

Speaking of Twitter, a lot of the people I follow seem to be soapboxing more about what's going on in the news rather than what they are actually doing.
