was there today, $9.50 for 2 bottles of water was enough to scare me off purchasing anything else.

Unfortunately I can well believe that. Captive audience, long event, restrictions of what can be brought in. Reminds me of an airport.

I see it was a meatatarian night. For us it was beef cheeks in the slow cooker with thyme, garlic, onions, beef stock and red wine.It was so tender and tasty.Washed down with a very smooth Redmans 1991 Coonawarra Claret.

I'll add to it. Tonight was a classic roast shoulder of pork, seasoned simply with salt, pepper, rosemary and seeded mustard; the skin scored, rubbed with olive oil and salted. Low shelf, blast to start the crackling off and then cooked to internal temperature 70 degrees Celcius and rested generously. Sides of jacket potatoes, roast carrots, roast onions and rocket salad. Sauce of red wine and pan juices in gravy stock.

I think I can claim the record for the first flu of the season.

Am just over the bones hurting stage with a very sore throat and headaches.

I know the feeling, had it last weekend and also missed on St. Paddy's day celebrations.
Hope you recover soon mate.

A little OT for here but on arrival at the QF transfer desk at LHR T3 tonight I was asked "Are you happy with your flights (QF 2/10) or would you like me to move you to QF10 directly?"
Apparently 150 pax on QF10
After I picked myself up off the floor I declined, after all why fly direct etc etc and it gives me a little lounge time in DXB.

Having been offered similar before I agree reject in most circumstances.
However 150 pax? WTF! Qantas really is having huge problems.
Yes off topic , but I hope they have a super cheap sale to Australia soon ;)

We had 30% loading in WhY last weekend on QF10. (i.e.1 pax/seat block)

I had 4 seats to myself for both legs :-)

It was maybe 40% on QF9 on the way over 2 weeks before.

I had 3 seats to myself on the DXB leg. :-)

Roll on the re-timing of 9/10 it might actually result in some bums on seats :!:

Odd I was on QF1/2 from Syd to Dxb and Upstairs in J was 100% both ways.

I'm a BBQ (hooded BBQ) roasting kind of chap......man, have I been missing the better things in life. It's so bloody simple it's laughable. Garlic and rosemary in the pot, salt, pepper and a little oil on the lamb, garlic and rosemary on top....put on the lid and whack it in the oven. Oven should be pre-heated at the maximum heat and as soon as you put the lamb in put it down to 160C. 4 hours later - Bellissimo!

YUM YUM YUM !!!!!!!!!!

Next SC AFF dinner is at your place :D

100% full on QF9/10 when I flew, never seen a QFi flight with a spare seat.

That is not good.

I am not taking any chances. I had the flu vaccine on Wednesday. This is the 16th year. I should really consider the pneumococcal vaccine as well with a weakened immune system.

Fortunately the flies have left MEL for the season. ;)

Am still hacking up bits of lung but hopefully getting better.

I think you will love this song JohnK.
I haven't bothered clicking on the link. Society is extremely bored.

Selfie won a race at Toowoomba on Saturday evening and it paid handsomely. Unfortunately I fell asleep after golf. :(
