Enjoy your regular drinks nights! :p

C'mon SYD folks, where's your enthusiasm for a drinks night?!

I would, but I have a little series of exams coming up - when they're done, I'll be up for SYD drinks!

Re: Another installment of random questions for the IPOT* initiative

can't I just leave out San Francisco??

What's wrong with San Francisco? I find it a really quaint town with interesting people.

Happy Birthday serfty; Bundy Bear :!:

Getting older is always better than the alternative :!:

Which is ..? Getting younger ..? :rolleyes::rolleyes:

Went and saw Cirque du Soleil: Dralion last night, VIP style; all I can say is simply awesome!

I hated it. It was such a wannabe-hippie town. People were just all round dowdy, dull and totally stuck in the 60s. I'd never go back in a million years. I think the only thing I liked was the v cool Agnes B store which stocked a bag I couldn't find in their LA flagship. Pity it's got such an amazing W - possibly the only beautiful and fashionable people in the entire city were the staff working there. :p

Ah, I have a different experience - I liked the funky cafes around Haight-Ashbury and enjoy the vibe around the pubs/clubs South of Market (SOMA).

I stayed in the SOMA area, where the W is. The city is just not my style at all, too "alternative."

Happy birthday serfty - here's to many more wishes and happy memories.

I couldn't find an appropriate smilie for you, so you can have this light bulb as a birthday present:

(Now where's a gift or balloon smilie when you need it..... :))

Can one still do the bne-gla milk run?

I think it's actually BNE-CNS (Brisbane-Cairns) you're talking about whichruns every day. There has always been the issue of getting connecting flights/itineraries that meet MCT in each stop.

(Qantas doesn't sell it as BNE-CNS, but does sell it BNE-TSV and TSV-CNS or something similar).

Can one still do the bne-gla milk run?

Was that even the route?

Apologies if on-topic.. :D

QF2300/2301 and 2307/2308 seems to be the "milk run" being BNE-GLT-ROK-MKY-TSV-CNS and return, as far as I can work out. I can't see the timetables directly though, so I might be wrong.

Pity it's the one flight number all the way, or it would be a very nice status credit earner!

Milk run

I'm doing QF2300 for Oz Fest in CNS in late May.

I booked it by using Multi-City and specifying BNE-GLT, GLT-TSV and TSV-CNS, then selecting QF2300 from each set (selecting QF2300 from GLT-TSV yields two stops: ROK and MKY).

It looks quite odd on the itinerary with three entries for QF2300. The connection time between each leg is 25 minutes, and the booking engine on QF website seems OK with that. (For standard aircraft at regular ports, MCT is 40 minutes enforced by the booking engine. But for some reason - either different aircraft type, QF-link or the port involved, the MCT for these set of flights is 20 minutes IIRC.)

It's not cheap, but I'm doing it anyway for kicks (gotta do it once :)). Moreover, I'm not sure how it will credit: technically it should be the mileage from BNE-CNS and 15 SC, but I've seen some "same flight number but with stopover" flights being credited curiously (in my favour, that is)....

I know this is probably "on topic" but if you book a *A J award (say, a RTW using SQ points), do you get *G lounge access ahead of each sector where available?
