Oh well, here in Victoria we had the "Cain / Kirner tax" twenty years ago so is nothing new.

Apparently there are tax cuts on the way to go with the great big new levy.

Yep, I was quite happy to get the bonus, pity it went on vet bills. It's the only benefit that I have knowingly had from a state or federal government.

Apart from the sanitation, medicine, education, wine, public order, irrigation, roads, the fresh water system and public health, what have the [-]Romans[/-] government ever done for us.

Wasn't in the right place at the right time for any of the lurks like the 'first home buyers' schemes and the rest.
I don't have any legitimate claims (apart from tax free gifts to eligible charities) to avoid paying my fair share of tax, which to be quite honest.

You haven't looked at the work related travel cents per km method? ;)

There's a weird trick to getting way more distance out of your car's remote key fob. All you need to do is use your head! The science behind it will definitely fascinate you.

Oh. I really need this to work. I just about have to stand next to the car for mine to register. BBL with the results.

A partial eclipse is coming across Australia

Sky watchers across Australia will be treated to a partial solar eclipse this afternoon, as the Moon passes between the Sun and the Earth. Starting at around 4:00 pm (AEST), the Sun will slowly transform from a bright round disc to a setting crescent in some parts of the country.

ABC Science.

Anything to get away from politics. :p

Pity about the clouds above Perth at the moment.

With Easter and Anzac Day just gone (plus a dental emergency yesterday), I've only had 3.5 days of work in the last two weeks.

I have been on vacation for the same period and only did 3.5 days of work...

It's a public holiday here in Germany on Thursday, "May Day".

Early May Bank Holiday for us on Monday. I've never understood why a lot of Euro countries have bank holidays in the middle of the week. Denmark does similar as I remember trying to get in touch with a colleague and couldn't!

Looks fixed. I'm on Android and I see erkpod's shot with the bear, and I see Princess Fiona's shot of what appears to be a very picturesque building near a lake...which I'm guessing is Maggie Beer's at the Barossa...

Working here too. Thanks guys.

What's worse?
1. Seat Back kicking kids?
2. Kids running around screaming in lounge?
3. Loud & obnoxious lounge guests?

I have had had all three today... I was enjoying the lounge serenity till they walked in..
