This thread should now be renamed the AFF weight loss thread as it's no longer OT :!:

What's Flashware's birthday, the 10 questions, a handful of random questions and post count fillers got to do with weight loss :?:

Happy birthday Flashware! Don't feel so bad; in a mere fortnight I won't be the same age as you any more. On the other hand, at least I can hire cars after that without paying the "under-age" penalty.

Thanks guys!! Clearly given the time of my post ... last night was a top night! (my unofficial celebration, went to a Birds of Tokyo gig which then kicked off into my bday!)

Now to battle on with the rest of the day ...... family stuff and what not!

Happy birthday Flashware: and I will reply to Anat0ls 10 questions when I have a clearer head.

I was 100kgs when I gave up smoking in 2003 and within a few months I was 115kgs. Since then I have hovered between 110kgs and 125kgs. Not good at all....

I have multiple bets with mutiple people that I can get down to 100kg by the end of the year.

Yesterday (April 3rd) was meant to be my last day at work at ExxonMobil :!:

Unfortunately (or otherwise) for me :( they are short of pilots again and I will still be there until 19th April. It has been suggested that I could go on leave for a couple of months and then go back but I really don't think that will be happening.

After 27 years at ExxonMobil, 41 years and approx 17,000 hours of flying it's time to have a rest for a while.

The current plan is to go on leave until 1st April 1010 and then retire. Who knows what will really happen :?:

I'll post some more when it really happens.

Happy birthday Flashware.hope there are many more enjoyable years of travel ahead.
So back to the weight.Presently 182cm and 99kg.Did hit 102kg 2 weeks ago.100 kg is my trigger to do something.Usually increase exercise and give up alcohol. If desperate I become a vegan for a couple of weeks-how these people make it a permanent lifestyle escapes me.Fine for about 10-12 days then the dreams start. At 14 days just got to have some meat.
Unfortunately at the moment it is the third day of rain here and predicted to go for another 3 days. Then again weather forecasters are just ahead of currency predictors in my eyes!

14 days?? I was vegetarian for 2 days :) If a pig or cow had run down the road, I would have been after it!

What's the wager?

In one group, three of us folk are betting on who can get to 100 kg first. Whoever wins gets $50 from the other two.

On another (also 3 people), there's a meal of the winners choice. Had to be at the end of the year as that was the next time we'd all likely be in the same city at the same time together ;)

I got from 123 down to 115 in a couple of months, but seems to be resistant to falling any further.

I used to work with this lady, and her husband was a vegetarian. She of course had to follow "in theory" but every week or so she would sidle up to my desk and casually ask if I would like to go to Hungry Jack's for lunch.

She told me her body just needed some meat occasionally and we had an understanding I could never mention this to her husband.

As I have posted, this thread had inherent stability once it reached the critical state of covering every possible topic in some manner.

So any post will be topic to one or more posts and off topic to the remainder.

For reference, please see posts #1 through #3439.

Oh, and happy birthday Daniel ... I guess you are now into your 25th year ...
