Calling a 1800 number with your mobile.

Not free. Big deal. Got plenty of credit this month.

Then, you realise that 1800 numbers aren't included in your standard call credits.

Expletive.

Calling 1800 overseas using skype ........not free but sometimes the only way to contact that company etc.... You don't have to have a mobile just internet and ditch calls. YOu use skype. I have sometimes not noticed the difference. I said sometimes. At times.......can be testing too

I fell for that trap one time. I hope it wasn't a long phone call.

14 minutes. It's going to cost me about $4-$5, so not extensive damage (cf. if it were charged as a standard call and then not included in the standard credit).

If it were a number in the USA I would have used Skype. This was in Australia.

Still, better to use Skype anyway, but I don't use Skype a lot and don't keep credits ready to go all the time in my Skype account.

I use a feature called automatic top up.....so tops up the account if I fall closer to the red.

There is no excuse for a queue to the male toilet. The most interesting situation I've seen was at Ballymore. Ladies using the male cubicles, men using the other available facilities.

i remember very very well the days at Ballymore when the queue for the wash basin was as long as the queue for the gents.

However Skype credit can expire if not used. This would be my problem.

I find Skype has many 50% sales at Coles/WW etc... Pays to use a monthly subscription of 300 minutes that can be used in many countries overseas.

Also iTunes vouchers 20-25% off plus whatever specials you have on the iTunes store can mean substantial savings (i.e. for me its books especially textbooks .... specialty apps ...etc

I use Giffgaff over here which allows freecalls to toll-free numbers on your mobile :D

Why can't you call a 1800 number on Skype? I call toll-free UK numbers on Skype and it's still free ....

I wonder if this is new. My wife had a message about hers expiring soon (topped up last year I think), whereas I've never received an expiry message and loaded mine back in 2010 or so.

I thought 1800 Australia from Skype would cost something. Just researched and found it costs nothing (no fee for call and no connection fee).

Now I really have egg on my face this time........

Research is a wonderful thing.

Skype credit expires if not used in 180 days. However, it can be reactivated by logging into one's Skype account (online) and using the Reactivate Credit function.

Well be prepared for a rise in the number of emails now that the Australian patent for cough has expired.
This means that generic copies are now permitted.

Speaking of which....

We had Virga - where the rain doesn't make it to the ground. The whole atmosphere was pink. My favourite colour.

This was sunrise over the Adelaide Hills yesterday.

Sunset in Adelaide is in the opposite direction, over the beach.

(I had to google virga. Spelling it differently means quite a different thing it seems.)
