And you'll be on selling to AFFers? At a reasonable margin of course.

Nope - will be giving them away to my AFF mates serfty, cove, penegal and medhead etc

Have you seen the way these guys eat? A wetsuit probably more applicable but we'll go with these to start and see if they suffice. :D

Given this is AFF, gives a whole new context to, "Open wide! Here comes the aeroplane!"

Is it just me and my imagination or are people getting more inconsiderate by the day?

I think that people are more easily frustrated and modern technology is such that people expect immediate responses to issues and are therefore more impatient and get antsy when that doesn't happen.

Not looking forward to my trip for several reasons tonight.
1) first long haul in whY in a very long time  although it was £400 return LON-PER, so can't complain on the price (QF/EK Expedia BR special ;))
2) crook as anything right now, had major sweats last night - kept waking up feeling as if I'd been sleeping in 50 degree heat. Whole body aches. Maybe it's man flu, after I've just got over my Africa Belly

The only thing that's helping me get on that plane today..... is that I get to meet my new niece and see the rest of my family :)

I'm feeling sick about what you're about to do, in the state that you're in. You poor thing :(

I think people are more selfish and inconsiderate in general. It is all "Me, me, me".

e.g. You come to the office to have a meeting with someone and take a chair from someone else's desk and don't return it. Or you adjust the chair settings to suit yourself. I know it sounds trivial but these people are filthy. They are disgusting. I don't want to be in the same room as them.

Of course that type of behaviour carries to the lunch room, toilets, lifts, trains etc.

What is wrong with them?

JohnK try being 60 plus in a store like DJs in Perth suburbs if you want to get perfectly ignored.

Oh Cove this has been happening in nearly every DJ and Myer store for at least the last 2 decades, despite your age.

I think most Retail employees these days are apathetic but this generally stems from changing management practices.

Don't get my started on people who borrow pens but don't return them to your desk or people who use the last roll of toilet paper but don't replenish the toilet paper holder...

I've worked out that I'll be able to do weekend trips to Melbourne (end of June) & Adelaide (end of July). Got to love planning ahead while I'm waiting for a train to drive!

I'll be making the arrangements after I return from Europe & then post dates & flights.

The primary purpose is to go to ice hockey games as well as (of course) to get some SC as I work on WP requal.

I've also picked up a gig writing for a sports website about the game which might open some doors. http://www.hewittsports.com

As far as I'm aware, the modus operandi of Myer and DJ at the least is not to seek customers who could use some help. Not that it's necessarily good or bad, but just how it is (and they still bring in the profits). If you need help or need to pay for something, then and only then you ask and they get interested. Also explains a lot why you don't need to employ many of them (relative to store size), and the investment by management into them is very small, viz. you don't necessarily have to given them extensive product training, there's no commissions or "bargaining / best deal" so no need to teach them about product protection and profit margin, etc.

The only areas where the salespersons actually approach you is in electronics / computers / cameras etc.... and of course then the usual customer presumption of those people (unfairly or not) is that they're trying to sell snake oil.

My gut tells me most people are happy to shop without being bothered by anyone, and they'll get help only when they need it.

Adelaide is getting a new Costco store so that will be exciting in a few months time.

Anybody with any knowledge of progress or non progress alleged Costco store going ahead on SE corner Moorabbin Airport?

Further anybody have any knowledge of alleged courtroom action bw Costco and Bunnings re old Bunnings site on Nepean Hwy Mentone? Looks too small to me but some in the know tell me it was a goer until Bunnings got whiff of it and pulled out of sale.
