Exciting day in Townsville yesterday.First the Blackhawk flyover as they leave Townsville.
A little later my registrar runs off and comes back with a selfie with Andrew Symons. The registrar is a cricket tragic.Just annoyed I wasn't told.Have wanted to talk to him for a while.AS that is,I already talk to my registrar.

2daughters currently living and working in Mt Isa ..ran into AS at the rodeo..lots of selfies with the big unit

When I get home from the US after the icy vodka, the Krug ,the French red and the jet lag I feel dull enough to drop below the three figure number that we all hope to score in an IQ test. I wonder if anyone has tested to see if they are the village idiot straight off that long haul flight.
No need really.

There are enough people who just show they are the village idiot without having to be tested.

Out of curiosity I was looking at prices between LGW-DBV in October. Some relative cheap biz fares. According to the QF points calculator you 1329 points and 60 SC one way.

Finally got to experience Eureka Tower 2 weeks ago - AMAZING - was up there after dark - just gotta go back and do it again in daylight also - Sthn Hemispheres highest viewing tower - UNBELIEVABLE - any Melburnians who have not experienced it yet I highly recommend you do ASAP - visitors to MEL do not miss it.

When I looked in Melbourne at the 55th floor I could not take the last step to the window. That makes a lot of places a little smaller for me in high rises.

Eureka is actually 88 floors up - and you just gotta do The Edge - 285 mtrs above ground level with just one piece of clear glass between you and splattersville!

The private dining room on the 89th floor used to be quite good, although I believe that it has changed hands since I last went to function there.

If you're ever in Chicago, hit the Signature Lounge in the John Hancock building. Wine bar on the 96th floor.

Love doing the tall buildings. The Edge we did a couple of years ago, and Chicago 2 years ago. The Shard in London was great, will post pics when I get the chance to do TR

Oops. I seem to have booked myself a 6 or so hour layover in LAX later this year. Arriving on QF11, then have a 5:45pm flight.

Whatever will I do with my day??
A burger for lunch, perhaps?
