I am not sure how long this post will last, but...

Warren Truss looks distinctly uncomfortable tonight.
Post is still here. ;)

It took a few posts to work out who Warren Truss was though. I do fantastically well to avoid this rubbish.

My rant for today.

In the past when you received any statements or invoices from a bank or company where you brought product from then your invoice or statement may be 1 page of detail of what you brought, the back page might include some terms and conditions.

Now that the bank wants to send everything out by email the statements especially from the bank is 4 pages; one for the credit card, and another 4 pages from the home loan account.

So much for saving paper.

Maybe people don't keep credit card statements any more, and file them electronically.

And from the credit card; if I only make the minimum repayment each month I will pay off the credit card in 91 years 8 months, and pay $58,029.45 in interest.

Who comes up with this stuff. [/End Rant]

Married to an accountant - keep all statements for minimum 7 years.

I like the minimum payment info - hope it scares the younger generation into paying off their debts asap. (looking directly at my son here)

Its a legal requirement that credit card providers have the blurb about how low the chains are for if you pay min amounts.

Exciting day in Townsville yesterday.First the Blackhawk flyover as they leave Townsville.
A little later my registrar runs off and comes back with a selfie with Andrew Symons. The registrar is a cricket tragic.Just annoyed I wasn't told.Have wanted to talk to him for a while.AS that is,I already talk to my registrar.

I'm waiting for that stage in my life when I would be happy to take 91 years 8 months to pay the debt ;)

I'm guessing you meant hot tub, although I guess both the mistaken and correct virtual realities are both not for a G rated audience!

Thinking too hard about something which you have already no foundational idea about is not productive during convalescence.

But never being intoxicated by the exuberance of your own verbosity!

After a wonderful trip, it really is a shock coming back to syd. Chaos, unorganised, escalators that don't work etc.

Yes, so what was the shock?

Sounds like business as usual to me. The longer you're captive in SYD the more the parking fees rise for anyone meeting you, the more likely you are to buy a drink etc.

Just like a very large shopping centre chain - put lifts in that are SLOW and not big enough to service number of customers wanting to use them so people are forced to keep walking to centralised escalators/travelators passing more shops on the way to tempt you. = Design Strategy, not sloppy or unintentional.

Or toll roads - where in control of pricing - put price up to level that stops more price conscious drivers using it as once traffic volume passes a certain level the maintenance/repair costs start increasing by 40-60% for every additional x00 per hour. It is more profitable to gouge and cut volume than to have traffic volume.

Perhaps this was really the reason the figures of the Lane Cove Tunnel (current Sydney court case) were arrived at!

...and you also work in a paperless office just like the futurists predicted in the early 80s, then 90s, then who cares.

It's gone the opposite way, great study put out by Xerox (I think) along the lines that on avg someone creating a 10+ page document will print out drafts (mod talk = versions) at least 32 times before the final. Must be all the whiteout making the screen hard to read!

I love ads for office technology- laptops in the park, emails at home while you pay with kids..

Yeah sure the technology lets us do things quicker, but we don't exactly go home and relax earlier..we just get more work done in the same (if not more) time!

Don't buy that BS!

Ah, but are they using the old 747s with old F cabin for J elites? Or are you at the back of the bus? Flying NRTSYD in four weeks to keen to know if I'll keep my 1K old F!

When I get home from the US after the icy vodka, the Krug ,the French red and the jet lag I feel dull enough to drop below the three figure number that we all hope to score in an IQ test. I wonder if anyone has tested to see if they are the village idiot straight off that long haul flight.
