The totally off-topic thread

There's about 4 hours till WWDC begins in the US and Apple announces some new products, hopefully a new iPhone, as I need a new phone.
As reported in the Aussie media (news.com.au):

APPLE has unveiled "the most powerful iPhone we've ever made", complete with video camera and a new "Find My iPhone" feature.
Also mentioned are some upgraded MacBook models and a new MacBook OS.

I'm trying to decide between the Palm Pre and the iPhone 3G S now. It will be a while before I get to make the decision, and I'm leaning towards the Palm Pre (Synergy looks like a magic item for me, as does the multitasking cards system, which the iPhone doesn't match), but there's still a lot to like about the iPhone 3G S as well.

I would stick to either Windows Mobile or the iPhone. Tomtom is available for both (or will be soon for the iPhone).

Is there any turn by turn navigation software for the Pre or Android yet? They're both ARM based systems running Linux, so theoretically you could run Tomtom fairly easily as the standalone devices are based upon Linux.

It's early days for the Pre - I expect that the range of applications to increase. Turn by turn maps are possible, but not yet implemented in terms of TomTom software - but that will change soon, I imagine.

It's a while before it will be in Australia - I can afford to wait to decide. My Nokia E71 does the job for now.

Hi, i know this is not related to your topic but i am trying to find out how to post a new topic?? i cant seem to find where to write one, can anyone tell me??..:)

Without starting a new question thread, say I have a QF award ticket, how last minute can I cancel the ticket and only incur the 5K penalty?

Lets use figures, if its an 8pm flight, can I like cancel at 730pm?

  • 5,000 Point Cancellation Fee
    • Requests to cancel an Award ticket (where permitted) and re-credit points will incur a cancellation fee of 5,000 points per passenger. Only points that would not have expired will be re-credited.
    • Refunds/re-credits will not be allowed once travel has commenced on any Award flight ticket.

I take that to mean you could cancel at 7:59:59pm :D (or probably even no show and still get it refunded)

Yeah that's how I read it as well. Cheers.

I think you should know that that can be arranged to be changed very, very quickly. :) This is, after all, a frequent flyer forum.

Yeah, but I figure I'm still safe given I'll be in ZQN shortly - and John doesn't like the cold.
