Had four wisdom teeth removed this morning. Antibiotics mean champagne can't be part of my liquid diet.

You are back home? Son had this done three weeks ago. He didn't eat solid food for around five days. Hope you've got some soups at home.

Was home by 11.30. Cooked up some pumpkin soup last night.

No, not what he said at all. It is not DARK at 6pm if the sun sets at 6:03 pm.
medhead,

Just to clarify, there is a significant difference between sunrise, official first light and actual first light, just as there is a significant difference between sunset, official last light and actual last light.

JohnK said it was dark at approximately 6pm which with a 1803 sunset and even a moderate overcast is distinctly possible. With a heavy overcast the difference can be a good 30 minutes plus.

The final touches have been added. BO last two years in the chair are going to feel like one giant headache!

When I had my four wisdom teeth removed, hubby feeling sorry for me, thought chocolate would be good..... so he gave me a scorched peanut bar, one of the hardest to eat. He has not forgotten the look I gave him.

Oh, that's harsh! I'm actually really wanting chocolate right now. I have a few kgs of m&ms in the cupboard but they probably aren't a good idea right now.

Printing didn't work in the Wing. Plaza premium has some desktops but no printer.

I gave up. I don't want to to use air print and emailing PDFs is coughbersome.

See if I can do some printing at Holiday Inn Chiang Mai later today.

Sounds like you and I were within cooee again John (The Pier) . I wish you safe travels. I scored a Cabana on arrival (by boat) which is quite a rare experience . I have a 7 hour journey tonight, after which I will have another boat journey to my arrival city. In this jaded frequent traveller age, this is a first for moi.
Enjoy Chiang Mai, JohnK. Best wishes, John.

Are you trying to use logic?

Just found this very sad...I think quite a few of us on AFF would dream of taking 3 years off work and travel the world!
A Queensland couple killed in a motorcycle accident in Uganda were only four months into a three-year globe-trotting adventure.

Dean and Tanya Griffioen died on Tuesday when their BMW motorbike was involved in a crash with a four-wheel-drive, Ugandan newspaper New Vision reported.

Queensland couple's worldwide adventure ends in tragedy

Not one that is in the country

I'm likely to be drinking downstairs with the plebs

The problem with the pleb bar is that it really is quite pleb-ish, and they don't even serve real beer (because plebs become hooligans when drunk apparently).

Smart casual is okay for most areas of the reserve, but the long room needs a suit and tie.

I thought the bars in the reserve did serve real beer and that other stuff was sold in the rest of the stadium.

I'm glad our summer doesn't get too warm .. couldn't imagine suit and tie every day in an Aussie summer

With one house firmly in opposition hands for a long time, it was already a headache and a half anyway.

What's another two years of much the same, especially since there isn't a re-election to bank on? (OK so he's going to have to consider that hopefully the next president might also be a Democrat, but the way things are looking it's not likely to happen unless the Republicans field an awful candidate.)

Chocolate based smoothies? Hot chocolate?

If you use rough chocolate, just pass it through a sieve. ;)

Just suggesting here. Of course, when I had my wisdom teeth out (two occasions: once was the first, most impacted one, then another was the other three) I didn't have any chocolate or alcohol, but suffice to say plenty of banana smoothies.

EDIT: Just remembered that as you're recovering from a tooth operation, it's probably stated to keep to simple, non-irritating like foods. Which probably means no excessive hot drinks, excessive cold drinks, high sugar.......

I've never had any wisdom teeth out ... does that mean I still have wisdom to give?
