Re: Merry Christmas

Congrats to all who got through Jetstar SYD domestic check in and bag drop yesterday - it was getting zooish when we braved it at 8am. Next year I want to fly somewhere involving the Flounge on Christmas Eve :) Merry Christmas to all.

Don't ever hope because you will only be disappointed.

My fiancee only had one egg with IVF treatment. That was an emotional rollercoaster. And 2 weeks ago we transferred a 3 day 8 cell embryo. Today nothing.

Save the prayers for someone who needs them. I don't feel like celebrating Christmas anymore.

John - as another AFFer who feels like he knows you through your posts across the year, my thoughts are with you. When cough things happen at Christmas, it's hard to feel festive. The words will sound twee, but know that there are more than a few of us who may not pray, but your thoughts will be with you, hoping for a brighter and happier 2015 for your and your partner.

Might have to start working out what Christmas shopping I need to do
Personally I hold the same view on Christmas gifts as I do to insults and abuse - until you have mastered the art of 'receiving them' - then don't try to get involved in 'dishing them out!'

JohnK very sorry to hear of the problem the 2 of you have had.Terrible timing.

I believe though you have far too high expectations.IVF isn't a magic treatment.Success rates vary in Australia but on average if a woman is under 30 the chance of taking home a live baby per embryo transfer is just under 50%.
It drops dramatically with increasing maternal age.For a woman 40-44 the average is only~13%.

As I mentioned on Facebook & Twitter, insert your own subtitle to the photo that applies to your situation.

I hope all of you are having a good day. I'm at my Place Of Employment.

I know. We got our hopes up after going through fertility treatment and only finding one egg and then the egg fertilised. My natural reaction is to never hope because the majority of the time you will only be let down.

Life is funny. There were 5 women yesterday having a blood test and 2 of them were pregnant. A 42 year old is pregnant where as a 33 year old is not.

Life is funny. I know someone who did multiple rounds of IVF and got nothing. First month after giving up they got pregnant naturally. And have since had another child, also naturally AFAIK.

My very best wishes to you and your fiancé JohnK. One of my very close friends has been going through a similar journey over the past year or so without success.
Thoughts and prayers are with you both.

Don't Worry. It's all about a law of average's. Brother and SIL now pregnant after 3 tries.

JohnK, Mrs QF WP and I can both say we've been there...multiple times. Yet we preserved and went further than most parents would to get the two children we have today.

Don't give up at the first hurdle. You need to be her rock. We (males) do so little in the process and aren't having our ovaries stimulated in excess of normal to produce eggs. Then have to carry....

Trust me, we have it easy

Re: Merry Christmas

Think I woke up in sympathy for all the parents being dragged out of bed early this morning.

We are in London.

The dark morning did not deter little Miss 8's excitement and anticipation.

she woke around 4, and woke us up before 5:30. Just realised this is her first Christmas I haven't been awake before her.
Opened all of her presents, skyped four families at home, and most adults went back to bed for naps.

It's now 7:30pm and she's still going after slening most of the day building lego, with a short attempt at skating.

JohnK,
My best wishes also through this tough time. I assure you that I t is worth the effort of continuing the process.

As you are well aware the really good things in life often don't come without determination and perseverance.

The line up for Boxing Day Sale for this designer is always the longest.

But as we work with this Company I'm sure they'd be pleased today.

These two, plus Peter Alexander are the only shops in the Mall requiring restricted access.

Should I be worried? I can see both bookings but different PNR's in J; ADL - Syd - BKK tomorrow on Q and Emirates. I can check in for me but only for the Adl - Syd leg. MrP - he can't check in at all!

At least the Chauffeur service has called so that's working. :p

Since recent changes to website I have not been able to use OLCI for international legs where the first leg is domestic.

Enjoy your trip.
