Since recent changes to website I have not been able to use OLCI for international legs where the first leg is domestic.

Enjoy your trip.

Thanks JohnK. Looking forward to our first trip to Thailand.

Boxing Day sales are complete stupidity. There is no need for opening shops on boxing day. The workers deserve a break with family. Having observed some of the people while dropping someone to work, they have to be stupid. Prams! Babies in prams with feeding tubes and such. What sort of imbecile thinks a pram is a good idea for massive crowds, let alone a child that need help to live?

It's not like old Australia where there was no Sunday trading and only half day Saturday. But even still, I remember one Christmas where everything was shut for 4 days. Guess what? We survived without going shopping.

Should I be worried? I can see both bookings but different PNR's in J; ADL - Syd - BKK tomorrow on Q and Emirates. I can check in for me but only for the Adl - Syd leg. MrP - he can't check in at all!

At least the Chauffeur service has called so that's working. :p

Isn't the word that you have to wait until 24 hours before the international flight now?

Times have changed.

Times have changed.

That's my point. Times have changed, no need for Boxing Day sales. Shops are open 362 days a year up from 275.

Unless you're referring to changed sensibilities in taking sick babies out in massive crowds.

Sure. But I can check in to the domestic leg. MrP can't even do that. Not to worry. I'm sure it will be fine....

Why is it the garden looks fabulous with all the watering and shaping etc just before we are about to desert it.

I'd still like to know what happens at T-24 from the international flight.

Too late for us now. When we attended the checkin counters my flight to BKK had to be added into the checkin I'd done online. MrP's booking was there in full but he'd not been able to even start OLCI yesterday.

Don't ever hope because you will only be disappointed.

My fiancee only had one egg with IVF treatment. That was an emotional rollercoaster. And 2 weeks ago we transferred a 3 day 8 cell embryo. Today nothing.

Save the prayers for someone who needs them. I don't feel like celebrating Christmas anymore.

JohnK sorry to read the bad news, can you go and read my AFF signature again please.

There was a phrase I remember from a few years ago, something along the lines of: what is worse than waiting; giving up altogether, so if possible try again.

I hope everyone had a good Christmas, I have done a trip around Australia, left Perth last Saturday, went to Adelaide for dinner; then spent a few days in Melbourne, up to the Gold Coast to see my parents for Christmas, thanks to Samh004 for the lift.
This morning I caught up with 2 AFFers one in Brisbane(oz) and the other in Sydney(kpc), now I am in Adelaide with my last flight for the year in less than an hour to Port Lincoln to compete in an Australian sailing titles.

On the 5 January 2015, 4 of us with our 2 boats will drive the 2,400 kms back to Perth across the Nullabor.

I hope everyone has a great 2015 including you JohnK.:)

…..

I agree totally. And with the advent of online sales, perhaps Click & Collect could be utilised for Boxing Day sales with pickup on the 27th or later.

Medhead - your "old Australia" sounds a lot like Perth, 2010!

In Germany there is only 4 Sundays in the year that retail can trade. More public holidays are off limits. Most employees have 5-6 weeks annual leave.

So ask you yourself why all our working conditions are degrading in Australia for more hours for less pay?

If you include all those claiming disability as unemployed you would get a better picture of why we have a big problem in Australia. Add the meth fiasco and it needs the 2 bigger political parties to come together to work on our problems. Neither political party can fix our set of problems by themselves.

Doomsday Preppers - Always great for a laugh at the delusional. Some guy is collecting kelp because it accumulates iodine, which provides some protection against nuclear fallout. Unfortunately no one bothered to tell this person radioactive iodine is one of the key isotopes in nuclear fallout and that the kelp will accumulate radioactive iodine if it is available. So longer term kelp is going to be useless to this guy. Short term he's going to be better off taking iodine tablets immediately there is an accident, because you need the big input immediately. Also something that kelp ain't going to provide.

Sorry I wasn't around to see you - saw the Swarm posts. Best wishes from the QF WP's for the Australian titles.

Or Queensland in the very early 1980s

Zounds! Three posts on the same page I agree with  . I think one or the other of us has had our accounts hacked. :)

I always get a different meaning from your signature. Something gets lost in the interpretation for me?

Who said I have given up? I do not feel like celebrating and still don't.

Looks like my personal iPad has died (markis10 will remember my initial days of ownership).

Refused to turn on after recent overnight charge. At the Apple iPad store now and he tried but agreed it's time for a funeral.

Very impressed with the service - he replaced it even though it was out of outside warranty. Thankfully I think most is on iTunes/Cloud.

Now to go home and set it back up
