Murphys Law - the best hotel upgrades always happen when you can't really "use" the room.

I've had 3 types of suite in this hotel in the last 2 months and haven't really been able to [ab]"use" the room.

I <always> get upgraded when travelling alone.

I <never> get upgraded when travelling with mrsdoc.

She's certain the hotels do this intentionally!

When Mr Up got an upgrade to the Presidential Suite in the (then) Hyatt Adelaide.. I flew over to "use" the room

Octopus is moored in Point Piper. Hadn't seen it since the London Olympic Games in 2012 when it docked in Canary Wharf.
It is quite an ocean going vessel. Getting ready for the fireworks in Sydney tomorrow night I would guess.

It is still only 2050 on New Years Eve, Eve here. Not sure about tomorrow night as the sound system installed here today would probably be OK to cover most of Australia also :!: :shock: :shock:

Why do I struggle to use points?

I need to travel SIN-CNX in 2 weeks.

- MI economy direct is SGD568
- CX economy and PG via BKK is ~AUD300
- SQ business award on MI is 17,000 KrisFlyer miles + SGD110

Definitely a no brainer if it was me. Unless the cash price is too good to refuse, I'll use points for J every time if available, even on short sectors.

I'm also off to work this evening, 12 hour shift commencing at 1600 hours. The best part is that the whole shift is paid at public holiday rates so another 12 hours TIL.
