I just got a bit of practice.Heard this loud noise outside.Go out and a very large cane toad.got out my old sand wedge.it just sat there.Lovely stroke. As high as it was long.Looked dead but another 3 shots to make sure.

I've always wondered - doesn't it splatter when you hit it? Love the idea but hate to have toad all over myself.

I assume a high iron or a wedge would be the choice from the coughnal, with a lifting shot in order to ensure minimisation of splattered innards.

Oh you're a serial killer as well.

I raised the many and varied methods used as a child for dealing with cane toads in a Cairns related group. A lively discussion followed when someone said people who torture animals usually become serial killers. They could seem to understand the concept that while serial killers have usually tortured animals, reserve isn't true.

Nope, they don't splatter. They are tough little buggers. A car is about the only thing guaranteed to kill them first go.

Dissected one at school once and there was a roofing nail in it's stomach.

Did you make par though? :)

I prefer a 7 iron to give me a bit of distance

Up in Innisfail, as a young boy visiting an aunt and uncle, I used to take to the cane toads with a pointed stick and bat them well into the property. Aah the days. Apparently the stink lasted for a little while as they decomposed. Still, they are a pest and regardless of what animal lovers think, it's best to dispatch cane toads.

Here's a thought.

Adult Thai males do not wear shorts in public.

Nor Scotsmen, I guess...

(wear shorts, that is. No one wears Scotsmen in public that I'm aware of. Not even Scottish women)

One of the animal lovers said cane toads had never hurt me. The massive destruction of native wildlife certainly damages my enjoyment of the environment.

Still when it comes to cane toads I am a serial killer. ;)

I'm no friend of the cane toad. I wonder if they were soft and furry with floppy ears we would do the same to them?

Rats and mice are soft and furry, small ears though. We still trap and poison them. Vermin are Vermin.

Genuine question: What would be considered the most humane way of cane toad destruction?
