Talking of bed bugs, as was the program I saw briefly on television last night, I was reminded of the old fashioned way of catching them before the dangerous chemicals were invented. The idea was to get a very damp cake of soap and press it onto the bugs so that they stick to the soap. Fortunately, I have never had to try it out. Any one found the horrible things in hotels beds?

Never, not even in NYC.

Life can be good when you you set out to enjoy it and don't go looking for things to go wrong. I guess that would mean less things to post about though.
What is the obsession with my post count?

Put me on ignore and leave the snide remarks at home. It's not like your campaign has been subtle.

Pot, kettle, I hope you understand I am doing this in good humour, you could put them on ignore.

Yes, in a lovely bed and breakfast in a Swiss mountain village, a long time ago. The bites were not a pleasant experience . Happy travels. John.

Do you remember an Inn,

Do you remember an Inn?
And the tedding and the spreading
Of the straw for a bedding,
And the fleas that tease in the High Pyrenees,
And the wine that tasted of tar?

What a lovely weekend in Brisbane.

Went to Karana Downs yesterday to have a game of golf as you would. You don't realise just how weird Brisbane is as a city until you drive around the place. I drove <10km from Milton yesterday and I was at Kenmore. Rural area. You soon realise the majority of Brisbane is concentrated around Brisbane River.
I used to love the Par 3 which was about 95m IIRC and the green was well below the tee box, making judging distance an issue.

Since I was out that way I drove to Moggill ferry for a few minutes. Up until a few years ago I had no idea about Moggill Ferry. Nice area and I was fascinated driving back from Moggill that I could see the city. Stopped to take a photo or 2 and this lady taking out the garbage came down to talk to me. She is originally from Malben as well and has been up here ~1 year. I didn't realise but I had parked in front of a derelict house and she thought I was the owner. Had a nice chat with her for 5-10 minutes. I didn't realise but Moggill is part of Brisbane City Council. That's a huge area for the council to cover.
My stomping ground for 15 years of my life.

The 12th hole? A bit longer from the plates but an interesting hole with creek in front and to the right of the green.

And he is the CEO of JAL.
I have experienced his touch. After giving medical assistance on a JAL flight the CEO wrote to me personally to thank me.
other ailines should take note.

There is no honour code left in the Anglophone worlds of business.

You are trying to compare to a society where CEOs can literally fall on their sword for bringing shame onto the companies under their leadership.

I've noticed an increase in phone numbers I don't know calling my mobile. So I don't answer.

I copy & paste the number into Google & it tells me who it is. Then I block the number if it is a telemarketer.

Just enrol on the donotcall register

Received a call yesterday from a mobile number I did not recognise.

Australian Contact Centre? What is Australian Contact Centre I ask. So he starts on his script about calls recorded blah blah. What is Australian Contact Centre I ask again. Insurance something or other. Not interested thank you. Had to say it twice and hung up. I could hear him saying give me 30 seconds.

I know it's his job to try and suck me in but it's my privacy. I don't want insurance. I shouldn't have to explain to a total stranger why I don't want insurance.

Trying to avoid getting on the Do not call register.

I may need some of these calls. Not insurance calls.

Wouldn't you be better calling them in that case?

I'm (genuinely) at a loss for an example of a product that is cold-called that is better than products readily available in the marketplace.

Not sure what is going to be offered by companies. IHG Dining Rewards is a recent example. I have had other offers in the past where I would never have thought to call.

This obsession with insurance right now is driving me nuts. Deal with each of them as they call.
