The totally off-topic thread

My current biggest teeth issue results from having had 7 teeth removed as a child to make room in my mouth. This avoided braces and such at the time. However, I have a tooth that is twisting around because it's not connecting to the opposite tooth when I bite. The current orthodontist said they did a pretty good job for teeth removal correction (or something like that). It sounds awfully similar to 'the Trabant was a pretty good car for the technology of the time'.

Needless to say I'm looking at braces to fix this darn tooth.
Similar background we have ;D ;) - although my teeth aren't twisted to the point that it concerns me (or my dentist) sufficiently to go (back to) my ortho for another go.

About two years ago one of the ISO certified (in a brand new building) dental groups in BKK wanted about $2500 for an implant. Note the AUD has a different value now.

As well, implants are very time consuming.
1. The old tooth must be gone long enough for the jaw bone to stabilize (6-9 months)
2. The titanium plugs will need to be in place for a while (4-6 months)
3. The skin covering the plug needs to be opened and heal (1 week)
4. Impressions must be taken of the jaw and the appliance made (1 week)
5. The dentist would really like you to be around for a couple of days after seating the appliance (just in case)

I'm happy with mine at well less than half the BKK price. Done in CMB though the guy is not really interested in seeing non-SriLankans. I'm persistent at times. I also have friends in SriLanka.

My dental cover is with Medibank. Not the world's best but it helps. Bumrungrad Dental (BD) in BKK prices were cheaper than my out of pocket cost here for "normal" type work when I used them 3-4 years ago. Note the BKK implant price I mentioned was NOT from BD.

More than you wanted to know, right?

I'll wander along.

I'm only bothering because of the dull ache that I get every so often. It shouldn't be a problem if my bite was correct as that would force it to stay in place.

I'm also thinking that this might be related to an injury I had with the army reserve. My jaw has been a bit stuffed up since that happened.

Was anything documented at the time that would allow you to make a claim against the Army?

The event was documented, I had an operation and all. Decreased movement of my jaw after the operation. But i think it is a fairly tenuous link. So I wouldn't be bothered claiming, especially when I should get a decent amount from private health insurance. Inertia and apathy. ;)

You'd think the Indian league one day matches might call them.

Shredding 18 months worth of MYOB session reports.... Ugh...
Have found outdoor power point, enjoying the sunshine and breeze, music turned up so I can hear it outside. Only have dusty pants from sitting on the ground. win/win.

Currently wagging the office group clean up your desk session by having lunch. I'm staving!

I used to have a job where I had to burn sensitive documents. That was outdoors and much more fun than shredding.

MYOB - how much do I LOATH thee? The most user-hostile program I have ever encountered. And the 'support' people are more useless than the poolside bar at the Jeddah Intercontinental.

My accountant said to switch to Zero, but I didn't want to go through the learning process again. Big mistake.
