Are you sure this is not the English cricket team in a huddle after the NZ match? Jeffrey Boycott might suggest it would be helpful to put them under some heat.

Against Australia at the MCG it was 25.1 and that day they certainly couldn't handle the heat.

Now that is a great idea. I guess when you have to check out at 4am, or whacked from a 14 hour flight, the last thing you would think of is changing the alarm setting. Actually now you mention it.......oops.
It's happened to us a couple of times when o/s - boy oh boy you absolutely levitate off the bed!!

I guess I'm more interested in their success rate. If they say something is suggestive of melanoma and it needs to be checked are they likely to be correct or say 1 in 4 or is it way out. Given they are independent I though they might be accurate.
Sorry, don't understand the issue here. If it's suggestive of a melanoma then without hesitation it should be investigated as a priority. BCC, as well but less urgency.

IF there were actually some available.

that you continue to suggest that a taxi might not be around, makes me think there might have been something going on that might have been having widespread impacts. A cyclone per chance? All of which backs up the feeling in my waters that Queensland rail might not have been doing this just to get at one single person alone.

I also know that it is impossible to find a taxi if one doesn't look for a taxi.

Subtle hey? Not.

Queensland Rail did not make any announcements at Milton station before, during or after the 3:30pm, 3:45pm and 4:00pm trains going Express through Milton. Don't you think the customers at the station are owed at least that much information? What is worse the call centre had no idea either.

Now is the next train (4:15pm) going to be express again or what. Does anyone know? At 4:07pm I decide to walk to Roma St station. I had no time to look for a taxi. I had to be on the 4:40pm Airtrain at the latest as the next Airtrain at 5:10pm was going to be touch and go for my flight. So I walked.

I didn't whinge. I just cursed at myself and kept walking in the rain. Got to Roma St at ~4:25pm and just missed the 4:26pm Airtrain but made the 4:40pm Airtrain easily.

Yes I know people around the state were having hardships. I really feel sorry for them but my life does not stop. Cannot stop as I have a life as well. If I miss that flight I have to stay in Brisbane for the weekend? Or pay hefty change fees to get on next flight? Why? Because someone else is suffering?

I actually did quite well under the circumstances. I am quite proud of myself that I did it without the help of Queensland Rail. I will get back to $10 the stupid Gocard machine charged for going from Milton to Milton without stepping foot on a train.

It must be hard when the whole world is against you. The very clear point is that it isn't just someone else that is suffering, it was/is most of the state - including you. For someone who isn't whinging, you're sure going on about it a lot.

Personally, I would've approached someone after the first train went passed, but that's just crazy old me.

So you would have done it differently. Would you like a pat on the back?

What I want is clearly never going to happen. I'll just have to keep reminding myself that the whole world is out to get some people.

I know what it feels like to bang your head against the wall. Very painful.

I don't want to bang my head against the wall. Time for a break.

He hasn't posted since Jan 29, nearly 4 weeks ago, which is unusual.

After many thousands of posts and resigning as one of the moderators, hopefully he is taking a well earned rest, perhaps nowhere near a computer connected to the internet. In any event, thank you again MARKIS10 for all the assistance.

OTOH, one of the more interesting (and regular non-moderator) posters on FT (spotwelder) has now reappeared after about 18 months absence from both FT and aviation related employment.

Happy wandering

Telstra. On 7/2 I arrived home from WA and my mobile phone was not in my pocket. As it was possible I had left it on the plane mrsdrron rang Telstra to put a block on it.Monday 9/2 our limo service came to the door with said mobile.it had slipped out of my pocket and under the front seat.So went to the Telstra store in Kawana to get rid of the block even though I had received a couple of SMS messages. They said no problem.Today on 16/7 the block goes on.

Amex.Three weeks ago I received my new Amex Platinum Edge card.Today an email saying I am eligible for the Amex Professional's Gold card-ie the card I upgraded.

As they say things come in 3's.
Ezibuy.Mrsdrron bought a top.Unfortunately it was faulty.Handy as it had a green"fault"sticker over said fault. So she sends it back and today gets the replacement.
This however came with another person's receipt with account number, address, method of payment etc.Mrsdrron rings them-their response-"just throw it in the bin".
Unfortunately for their CEO his email address is in the public domain.
