The totally off-topic thread

I think I heard the finance minister just say the next budget will be 'simpler and fairer'... Where have I heard that?

There is much bewilderment as far as this ex-pat Scot is concerned regarding the overwhelming support for Shrek and Fiona (SNP).
I'm not one for much political commentary but I will say this -
I'm glad I don't live there anymore :(

I probably should have called it the party that most Scots might support.

For the ignorant (me), what's a slope rating?
A poor way to try and make an unfair system fairer? OK not quite but the handicapping system is poor.

I shot 98 at Hills Golf Club on Saturday off a 15 handicap. That was adjusted to a 97 as I had a quadruple bogey. Poor front nine but better back nine. We played a stroke round but Golflink handicaps on the srableford score. I had 26 stableford points which equates to 25 over off my 15 handicap.

When the slope rating is taken into consideration I was actually credited with 16.2 over par. That's not a fair assessment of my round on Saturday but one I have to live with for the next 20 rounds until it drops off my rolling 20 games.

I know you can 'ignore' particular posters, but is there a way to totally ignore a complete thread?

I think there could possibly be a way. I am not sure exactly how but it has been mentioned to me by a moderator that you can exclude yourself from certain forums. Again not sure if individual threads only.

AFF is getting too big to simply click on 'New Posts' and start going through the threads you want to read and the ones you want to ignore.

Is there anyway of getting "new threads"?

I've seen it on other forums and it makes it much easier to navigate. Similar to the app.
