Fremantle win as well. I must have entered some strange parallel universe this weekend.

I think its more a case of the English loosing

Or as a result of being at the bad end of an Australian Fanatics prank.

Well the English are well on the back foot, and it's only the second day of play finished.

If Australia stuff this up.......... <insert sufficiently tortuous fate here>

Broad and Swann have had some fun entertaining the viewers, but its time to wrap it up for an early lunch now. Can't see Harmison belting it around like Broad was doing.

Weird - Hawthorn will probably still make the finals by winning all three remaining home and away games.

They can conceivably still do so by winning only two as long as one of these is defeating Essendon in round 22!

Who knows -only 96 runs to make oz bat again. :(

I don't know the first thing about Cricket, and I'm almost last in the footy tipping, so I leave this conversation to you guys!!! :D

Didn't take too long to wrap it up after lunch . Talk about a one-sided game. Over in less than 2.5 days. Now if they could just have wrapped up the first game when they had the chance .... oh well. Makes the 5th test worth watching.

Does Flashware Senior need another "son" to sit with him at the GF so I can watch the mighty St Kilda win? :) He wouldn't need to put his hand in his wallet all day. :):) Not so subtle hint, begging etc. When St Kilda get close we will be coming out in force.

Only if Flashware was able to snag a ticket :D

I'm still dealing with incompetence on a daily basis over here in the UK. Is it a national art form?

Summary of interactions with a certain large UK Bank.

- Opened bank account (easy!).
- Changed address to my new residence. Got a security audit performed because my transaction was suspicious.
- Requested a cheque book. They suggested sending it to the branch. 2 weeks later it still hadn't arrived, so re-ordered to my address. It turned up about a week later.
- Applied for another account online. Paperwork for the account took about 2 weeks to turn up.
- Applied for a credit card (<$A1000 credit limit). It took about 2 weeks for a preliminary fail (and another week for them to send the paperwork!) as they have no confirmation of my address. Off to the branch I go and get some stuff faxed to the Credit Card centre. 2 weeks later still havn't heard anything, so call up again to enquire. Paperwork never received. So I've now re-attended the branch and got them to fax it off again.
Checked with the cc centre to see if it's been received - "Nope, can't check. Faxes cannot be received after 4pm for security reasons, so it will arrive tomorrow morning". One wonders if it will be received!

Not even 100% sure they will accept the paperwork provided. Not sure what to do if that occurs, although the card is practically guaranteed to be approved once the address details are ok.

It is always fun trying to set up your financial life again overseas!

Umm...this is left field, but I was fiddling around with the oneworld website that talks about lounge access. There is a page where you can "search for a oneworld lounge" in given destinations.

If you look up ZQN, the Air New Zealand Koru Club is returned as a lounge with an asterisk saying that it is "operated by a third party on behalf of QF".

What the???!! Since when can a QF-flyer get access to the KC? This isn't even printed on QF's website! (If it is true, then I've duped myself out of some lounge access...)

I wonder how many of the other destinations in the oneworld map are also incorrectly described as far as lounge access is concerned...

I hope you haven't canceled your Australian credit card as when you change countries its almost impossible to get a credit card in the new country.

For a period of time you could get into the KC (in ZQN) if you were a OW member with lounge access, I remember going in with my dad when we weren't flying ANZ. However that was a long time ago, maybe they just forgot to change that entry.

Currently, at least as a QF QP or above, they give you a $50 voucher to be used at the cafe round the corner. $50 can get you quite a lot of good food there. I got a few beers, a quiche and some sweets when I last flew out.

Bearing in mind that OW lounge search still lists the Gold Coast as having a QP too.

Do they give you the voucher when you check-in?

This must mean only QF international, or "real" QF flights. I was on Jetconnect QF2772 some time ago and as a WP who checked in I wasn't advised of any lounge access. Of course, the onus probably was on me to ask  but I never suspected for a second that KC entry was possible.

Now that QF only have international flights to ZQN and only on a seasonal basis, there'd be no reason to maintain ow access at all.

Trust QF to be up to date about these things... there aren't even any ow flights to or from OOL at all (excluding possible QF and JL codeshares on JQ metal, which don't fall within the ow lounge access rules anyway)...
