The totally off-topic thread

Totally agree, but the IT issue here is not an issue with mixed-class rewards. Rather, single-leg J revenue fares have the (!)... even though there are J seats available. I'm not sure which is worse...
It's not only that. Maybe it's just the DYKWIA in me but I never want to look for mixed class awards, ever. Even if you disable whY and premiumY, and enable just J and F, you still get whY. Ahhhh. Obviously a QF IT executive decision. Very bad and extremely annoying. Ahhhhh.

With the thing you're referring to, it's been going on long enough that they could have chosen to fix it by now if they wanted. Apparently they don't want to. And yes, it is annoying.

Well, RedRoo? Listening?

On the off-chance that Red Roo actually reads this thread... assuming they don't want to make any drastic changes, my advice would be to display the exclamation mark/"i" on the monthly view page as well as beside the actual flights, so that it can be clearly seen from the initial search which flights are actually business, and which are 1/3 business.

WRT it's very simple. Show what the OP asks for, whY, J or F and add an option for mixed fares. Trivial for IT, impossible it seems for QF execs. There's nothing ( well there are many things, actually) more annoying than to spend 10 mins searching for points fares for J and F to be shown only whY fares. I repeat, Ahhhhhhnhh. Makes me more and more unhappy with QF very time I search for fares internationally.

That is also a very reasonable suggestion. Well, I think so anyway but I don't work for QF!

Its not only QF. I recently was searching for CX J fares, SYD-LHR-SYD, and the search returned fares of around $7,800, and every single leg to/from Sydney had that little note - this leg will be in PEY (see example below)!

Facebook really is stuffed. It makes friends suggestions. My number one suggestion is someone with zero mutual friends. (The person with 23 mutual friends is not even in the top ten). Anyway after a bit of Facebook stalking I see that an AFFer, who lives in the UK, plus his wife is tagged in one of this person's posts. Now the AFFer is a good person and I've even guested them into a LHR lounge. But I have zero idea why I'd want to be friends with their friend, who I've never met, when the person themself isn't a Facebook friend.

I have no idea why you'd want to be friends with any of Mrs Flashback's friends either ;)

Facebook goes in circles on who it suggests as friends, AFFers come in regularly as people I should add as friends, it even suggested I should be friends with another AFFer who we don't even have mutual friends, and the only way I have spoken to them is via AFF PM or phone call.
My Facebook top friend suggestion is someone who recently died, we had one common friend.

I can't like that, but thanks for the info. I've never really had an almost random stranger suggested in the past

..... I've never really had an almost random stranger suggested in the past..

I am an infrequent facebook user. Strangest "friend suggestion" was myself!!!

Actually it was my original and long-forgotten account. But still felt weird.

This is why we don't let computers fly aeroplanes. (without pilot supervision)

It is annoying but has the glitch been partly fixed?

Today I was checking BNE-HKG in business and one option was via SYD and the return via MEL. Both long haul flights had the exclamation and the points cost was 92,000 QFF points which is correct for part business part economy?

In personal news, my sister and long time tenant has found a lovely dwelling in Melbourne which she wishes to buy.

The quoted price is 25% below her maximum so she will hopefully acquire it at auction next weekend. (subject to the usual real estate agent BS price quotations). I am tipping it will go for about 15% over the quoted price, but it could be closer to 20%. Any more than that and it could be touch and go for her.

Anyway, the good / bad part of this news is I may soon be a loner at home. It might be time to get a new tenant or three? I hear Buzzard is going to apply for the role of cellar manager at Château penegal? :p

The update to this post is that she was successful at the auction at the weekend. She remained calm under pressure and came in right at the end to outbid a total of 7 other bidders in what was a rather well-contested auction.

I think she overpaid by a tiny amount, but given the clear market interest in the property, not to mention it's excellent quality, the price she paid was fair in the current market. Furthermore she will enjoy about a $15-17K stamp duty reduction thanks to the state government's incentives for first home buyers.

Very exciting news!

She is keeping it on the down low, but I'm sure we shall enjoy a few celebrations closer to settlement.

The way they calculate the cost of mixed fares has been changed for a while, a real enhancement. The terms and conditions have been modified as well. IIRC last time this was discussed it might have happened mid-2014.
